We are proud to announce that Prof. Dr. Dan Gabriel Cacuci has been appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Nuclear Engineering (ISSN 2673-4362). His term started in April 2020.

Dr. Dan Gabriel Cacuci holds one of two SmartState Endowed Chairs in Nuclear Science and Energy. His recruitment to the University of South Carolina (USC) was a coup for the state. Dr. Cacuci is internationally recognized for researching and developing methods to predict the future behavior of engineering systems related to nuclear reactors and energy. His research interests include all areas of nuclear engineering, sensitivity and uncertainty analysis of large-scale systems, and predictive modeling combining experimental and computational information to reduce uncertainties in predicted results.
A prolific and respected author, Dr. Cacuci has written three books, six book chapters, and over 190 peer-reviewed articles. He has received numerous national and international awards, including four honorary doctorates, the U.S. Department of Energy E.O. Lawrence Award, the American Nuclear Society (ANS) Compton Award, the ANS Wigner Award, the ANS Seaborg Medal, and Germany’s A.V. Humboldt Prize. He is also an honorary member of European Academies and former Scientific Director of CEA/France Nuclear Energy Sector.
