Editor-in-Chief Vacancy in New Journal Thermo

Thermo is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal that is mainly focused on the study of thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, and kinetic theory, and it is published quarterly online by MDPI. We are currently seeking applications for the position of Editor-in-Chief (EiC) of Thermo.

Thermo aims to publish high-quality scientific papers presenting ground-breaking and innovative results as well as major achievements in the field of thermal physics, covering all aspects of heat and temperature, which is a joint study of thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, and kinetic theory. Some typical topics include: Thermodynamics, Thermal Properties of Matter, Thermal Analysis, Energy and Free Energy, Phases and Phase Transitions, Bose–Einstein condensation, Isolated Thermal Systems, Canonical Probability Distribution etc.

Applicants must have a strong background and relevant experience in their capacities as an author, reviewer, and/or associate editor of related journals. The EiC must also be well-recognized in the related areas of expertise. The main responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief include the following:

  • Setting the scope and direction of the journal;
  • Advising on the strategic development of the journal;
  • Ensuring the quality of the published content;
  • Coordinating the Editorial Board and stimulating their contribution to the journal;
  • Promoting the journal at scientific conferences and through other venues.

The application for evaluation should include these items:

  • An up-to-date CV;
  • A description of the candidate’s vision for Thermo.

We welcome volunteers who support our mission, values and commitment to providing a high-quality experience for our authors. We are most interested in active scientific researchers currently leading a research group, program, or agenda who have considerable prior experience in authoring and reviewing research articles.
