Prof. Dr. Juan Ramón Morante Appointed as Section Editor-in-Chief of “Advanced Energy Materials” in Energies

We are pleased to announce that Prof. Dr. Juan Ramón Morante has been appointed as Section Editor-in-Chief of the “Advanced Energy Materials” section in Energies (ISSN 1996-1073).

Since 1985, Professor J.R. Morante has served as full professor at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Barcelona. Since 2009, he has been the director of the advanced materials for energy area of the Energy Research Institute of Catalonia, IREC, and has served as director of this public research institute since his appointment at the end of 2015.

Currently, he is focused on the introduction of renewable energy and the environmental impact of energy. Likewise, he is specialized in energy conversion processes at the nano scale and focused on the use of these processes for energy storage as well as the production of solar, synthetic fuels and added value chemicals for the replacement of fossil sources. In addition, he is involved in the deployment of sustainable mobility based on batteries and/or hydrogen as well as in smart energy networks for sustainable cities and societies.

He has co-authored more than 600 publications, without including his proceedings and books, and has more than 32,500 citations (h = 95) according to the GS database. Along with holding 24 patents, he has been advisor of 53 doctoral theses and participated in/or coordinated numerous projects in various international and industrial programs (>55).
