Microorganisms | New Section “Virology” Established
In order to specifically develop different research areas and attract more high-quality papers, Microorganisms has created a new section called “Virology” (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/microorganisms/sections/virology).
The following Special Issues of this section are currently open for submissions:
- “Molecular and Therapeutic Aspects of Viral Infections” (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/microorganisms/special_issues/viral_infect Deadline: 15 July 2021);
- “Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV): Small Virus, Big Impact—Promising Gene Therapy Vectors for the 21st Century and Beyond” (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/microorganisms/special_issues/aav Deadline: 31 July 2021);
- “Molecular Biology of Hepatitis B Virus—from Basic Concepts to Therapeutic Targets” (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/microorganisms/special_issues/molecular_biology_hbv Deadline: 31 July 2021) ;
- “Virulence of Viruses and Their Interaction with the Immune System” (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/microorganisms/special_issues/virulence_immune Deadline: 31 August 2021).

Microorganisms (ISSN 2076-2607) is an international, peer-reviewed open access journal which provides an advanced forum for studies related to prokaryotic and eukaryotic microorganisms, viruses, and prions. It publishes reviews, research papers, and communications. The current Impact Factor is 4.152. The journal ranks 37/135193 (Q2) in the category “Microbiology”. Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical results in as much detail as possible.
