Coasts | Call for Special Issue Proposals and Recruiting Guest Editors

Coasts (ISSN: 2673-964X) is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal on coastal engineering, management, conservation, biology and ecology. The journal is indexed within GeoRef, DOAJ and other databases. The proposed scope of the journal can be found at the following link: https://www.mdpi.com/journal/coasts/about/.

The Coasts Editorial Office is pleased to announce an open call for Special Issue proposals. Special Issues are a space where authors can present their research results with other relevant and exciting work, where readers can find a series of peer-reviewed research papers of interest, and where scholars can gain new knowledge in a research area or even find new collaborators.

Please feel free to write to the Coasts Editorial Office ([email protected]) with Special Issue topics you wish to see in the journal and/or a proposal for a Special Issue if you are interested in becoming a Guest Editor of Coasts. The Editorial Office will respond to you as soon as possible.

The duties of Guest Editors are as follows:

  • Defining the titles and scopes of Special Issues;
  • Conducting a pre-peer-review check on new submissions to the Special Issues;
  • Making decisions on the manuscripts and ensuring the publication quality of the Special Issues;
  • Putting forth the names of potential authors.

The benefits of Guest Editors include the following:

  • A certificate of recognition as a Guest Editor of Coasts;
  • A waiver for publication in Coasts;
  • A printed book of the Special Issue if a sufficient number of papers are collected;
  • An ideal venue for networking and communicating with scholars in the research field. The relationships you develop will last beyond the publication of your Special Issue, establishing a network for future collaboration.

The Coasts Editorial Office will be responsible for establishing the Special Issue’s website, organizing peer review and author revisions, copy editing and English editing, Special Issue promotion, etc.

Please do not hesitate to contact us ([email protected]) for further details and clarification. We look forward to receiving your proposals.
