Introducing MDPI’s Online Proofreading Platform

What is Online Proofreading?

The Online Proofreading (OP) platform is an interface that can help both authors and internal MDPI employees to make the proofreading process more efficient. The Online Proofreading platform not only provides a safer and more convenient platform for proofreading articles, but also precisely documents all changes made by different parties during the proofreading process, as well as creating all the necessary versions of an article.

What are the key functionalities of the Online Proofreading platform?

  • Track Changes: Track content modification such as deletions, insertions, and adjustments;
  • Comment: Communicate between authors and internal MDPI AEs/PrEs, whose comments must be responded to;
  • Reference Editors: Adjust the content or order of references;
  • Mathematical Equation Editor: Adjust mathematical equations;
  • Table Editor: Adjust the layout, structure, or content of tables.

* The functionalities are described in more detail in the manual.

How can Online Proofreading help us?

The Online Proofreading tool provides authors at MDPI with a secure, efficient, and convenient platform for proofreading, allowing authors to make modifications to their articles using an HTML editor in real time. Authors can use a simple interface to make corrections to text, equations, tables, figures, etc., in an HTML format. Editing can be carried out using a browser, with no additional software required. In addition, after manuscripts are edited using Online Proofreading, the workflow process will be displayed. If you have any difficulties with using this platform, please feel free to use the manual to find tailored solutions to the relevant problems. We hope that this manual will be useful for you.
