The sustained existence of peer-reviewed journals relies on the invaluable contributions of reviewers, whose steadfast dedication is often not sufficiently acknowledged. While editorial decisions ultimately lie with the independent academic editors, reviewers enhance the process with their technical expertise, scientific acumen, and continuous commitment.

Our journals sincerely thank all reviewers for their indispensable role in improving the quality of published work.

In 2023, approximately 285,000 reviewers reviewed at least one manuscript for MDPI journals. The continued adherence to our elevated publication standards owes much to the exceptional efforts invested by these dedicated reviewers. Each year, we express heartfelt appreciation and genuine recognition to every reviewer for their invaluable time and unwavering dedication, recognizing that the quality of scientific discourse is based on their efforts.

As part of MDPI’s reviewer recognition program, 365 journals have already published acknowledgments of reviewers in their respective journal news columns. These acknowledgments include the names of reviewers who have evaluated at least one manuscript in the year and consented to disclose their names.
