Professor Dr. Paul B. Tchounwou Elected as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science


We are very honored to announce that the Editor-in-Chief of our journal, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (IJERPH, ISSN: 1660-4601), Professor Dr. Paul B. Tchounwou, has been elected as a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), publisher of the science family of journals. 

Prof. Dr. Tchounwou has been selected in the 2023 class of AAAS Fellows, along with 502 other distinguished scientists across various disciplines from around the world. 

Prof. Dr. Tchounwou, who is also the Dean of the School of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences (SCMNS), has been elected an AAAS Fellow for his seminal contributions to the identification of molecular targets for cancer therapy, as well as policy decisions by the U.S. Government regarding the management of toxic and hazardous materials. His work has had a significant impact on both the scientific community and public health policies. 

In addition to this prestigious recognition, Prof. Dr. Tchounwou is ranked among the “World’s Top 2% of Scientists” according to the researchers from Stanford University, a testament to his more than 30 years of achievement in academic and scientific research. 

We are incredibly proud of Prof. Dr. Tchounwou for receiving these prestigious recognitions. His dedication and contributions to the field of environmental health have not only advanced our journal but also the broader scientific community.
