Travel Award
Dear Colleagues,
As Editor-in-Chief of Children, I am pleased to announce the winner of the Children Travel Award for 2017 Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) meeting:
The Travel Award was granted to Dr. Francis Joseph Real, General Pediatric Master Educator Fellow at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati, OH, USA. His work submitted to PAS focused on novel physician-patient communication training using immersive virtual reality (VR) to decrease rates of influenza vaccination refusal. This work is in line with Dr Real’s long-term career interest in improving health outcomes for children in low-income settings through innovative educational strategies.
The award consists of 800 Swiss Francs to attend the upcoming Pediatric Academic Societies Meeting 2017. Please join me in congratulating Dr. Real on his excellent contribution and notable accomplishment.
