Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Physical activity (PA) is crucial at an early age to reach adequate health in adulthood. It is necessary to stimulate cardiorespiratory and muscular fitness related to central and peripheric organic factors, respectively; furthermore, motor abilities such as displacements, jumps, and throws are generally associated with coordinative aspects. Along with stimulation properly programmed in terms of volume, intensity, methods and tools, it is relevant to perform a periodical assessment of these variables to make decisions. On the other hand, despite all the benefits offered by PA practice in children and adolescents in the biopsychosocial field, adherence to the practice of PA is at risk since the socio-educational-affective aspects are generally left aside, creating a risk of children falling into physical inactivity, sedentary behaviors, associated self-esteem problems, body image, alterations in body adiposity, etc.

This Special Issue aims to welcome original research papers on Physical Activity and Sedentary Behavior in Children and Adolescents. We welcome reviews and original papers based on study related to physical fitness, sedentary behavior and child health.
