Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Hydrogels are composed of a three-dimensional network of crosslinked polymers that can retain large amounts of water while maintaining their structural integrity. They can be used as tissue scaffolds for regenerative medicine, providing a supportive environment for cell growth and tissue repair. Additionally, their injectability allows for minimally invasive delivery, making them suitable for applications in drug delivery systems and regenerative medicine. Nano engineering techniques are employed to enhance the mechanical strength and resilience of these hydrogels. Incorporating nanoparticles or nanofibers into the hydrogel matrix reinforces its structure, improving its stability and durability. Mechanically robust nanoengineered injectable hydrogels have emerged as a promising material in regenerative medicine due to their unique properties, such as controlled drug release and improved biocompatibility. The development of mechanically robust nanoengineered injectable hydrogels continues to advance, offering promising solutions for various biomedical challenges by leveraging their tailored properties and versatile applications in tissue engineering, drug delivery, and regenerative medicine. This Topical Collection series aims to provide insight into the cutting-edge developments of the therapeutic potential of various hydrogels in biomedical applications. Altogether, starting from a deep insight into its basic aspects, this Topical Collection aims to highlight new advances in hydrogel research in the form of original research papers, as well as review articles.
