Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The three-level nutritional interaction between plants, pests, and natural enemies is a cutting-edge topic in chemical ecology and evolutionary biology, and an important foundation for finding sustainable pest control pathways. During the long process of evolution, plants have formed complex interactions with herbivorous insects and their natural enemies. On the one hand, plants produce a direct defense response after being fed by insects. On the other hand, insects can also resist or adapt to plant defense in various ways. In addition, natural enemies also indirectly defend themselves against pests through plant induction. Clarifying the interrelationships among the three is of great significance for the sustainable development of pest control and the development of new control strategies. This Special Issue is dedicated to collecting research on the interaction between plants, insects, and natural enemies, including but not limited to inducing factors, signal transduction, gene expression, and biosynthesis. Articles related to any of the above topics are welcome.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Genes is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
