Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

With great excitement, we extend our warmest welcome to the Membrane Society of Australasia Annual Meeting And Conference 2024, set to grace the Aerial Function Centre at the University of Technology Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, from December 9th to 11th, 2024. Join us as we converge in the vibrant city of Sydney for a conference committed to inspiring, educating, and fostering enduring connections within the thriving membrane science and technology community, and its associated fields.

Key Themes:

Innovations in membrane technologies for sustainable resource management.

Sharing insights into cutting-edge membrane technologies designed for sustainable resource management, including desalination, valuable resource recovery, water purification, wastewater treatment, and air filtration. Addressing challenges and breakthroughs in membrane materials, design, scalable manufacturing techniques, and processes that contribute to the efficient and environmentally friendly utilisation of resources.

Membrane engineering for energy and environmental sustainability.

Membrane-based separation processes for clean energy production, carbon capture and storage, and sustainable chemical manufacturing. Discussing engineering strategies and breakthroughs that contribute to a more sustainable and eco-friendly future.

Multidisciplinary approaches to membrane science and technology

integration of different disciplines to enhance membrane performance, foster innovation, and address complex challenges in areas like healthcare, energy, and environmental protection.

Under this purview, we are publishing a Special Issue with journal Membranes. Authors who present their work during the conference are invited to submit the related full papers to the Special Issue.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Membranes is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2700 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
