Dear Colleagues,

As Editor-in-Chief of Technologies, I am pleased to announce the winners of the 2019 Technologies Travel Award on behalf of the Evaluation Committee:

Aishwarya Natarajan is a PhD student at the Georgia Institute of Technology whose research is in the field of reconfigurable analog and mixed-signal circuits and systems for bio-inspired ultra-low-power neuromorphic applications. She is planning to orally present her work “Implementation of Synapses with Hodgkin Huxley Neurons on the FPAA” at the IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS) (26–29 May 2019, Hokkaido, Japan). The award consists of 500 Swiss Francs towards attending this conference.

J.M. Purushothama is a PhD student at Université Grenoble Alpes, France whose research is on RFID, microwave-based bio-sensors, implantable antennas, frequency-selective surfaces, metamaterials, RCS studies, dielectric characterization, etc. He is planning to present his work “Electronically Re-Writable Chipless RFID Tag Using Solid State Metal-Insulator-Metal Switches on Paper Substrate” at the IEEE MTT International Microwave Symposium (IMS), 2–7 June 2019, Boston, MA, USA. The award consists of 500 Swiss Francs towards attending this conference.

It was a difficult decision with such high-quality applications for the award, and we thank all applicants. We wish to congratulate Ms. Aishwarya Natarajan and Mr. J.M. Purushothama for their accomplishments.
