Scientific Specialist

We are looking for PhD holders to manage Preprints submissions and feedback, and lead conference coordination for scientific integrity and ethical discussions. The position of Scientific Specialist is a full-time position based in Singapore.

PREPRINTS:

  • Processing 5-10 Preprints submissions per day, to continue observing the feedback from the authors and to perceive if any new situation requests attention.
  • Maintain and update Advisory Board, and explore the positioning of Advisory board in the development of Preprint and its influence on the number of submissions to Preprints in different subjects
  • Regular market research and analysis
  • Represent company to attend the industry conferences related to Preprints, e.g. OASPA.
  • Plan for Preprints workshops
  • Take in charge of the Preprints blog, including knowledge popularization series, author interview series; generate popular science blog content
  • Preprint-related training for the editorial department

Conference:

  • Leading the in-person chair visiting in Singapore, facilitating the cooperation with scholars in conference business
  • Review all the conference program, ensuring the scientificity of the session topics proposed by the journal team.
  • Responsible for the scientific discussion with the event chairs online, leveraging your expertise to lead the conference theme discussion with the chairs
  • Editorial training to the conference team
  • Being involved in Singapore/Thailand in-person events
  • Give suggestions on conference-related ethic issues and other scientific issues.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Science

Assistant Editor

We are looking for candidates willing to stay connected to scientific research by helping researchers worldwide publish their latest results. The position of Assistant Editor is a full-time position based in Singapore.

As an Assistant Editor you will:

  • Support the editorial process for academic research journals in your domain of expertise
  • Organize peer review for submitted manuscripts and coordinate editorial decisions
  • Handle email communication between the parties involved in the publication process
  • Collaborate with other members of the editorial team and production team
  • Ensure that scholarly articles are accurately edited and published according to tight deadlines with a high degree of consistency

Requirements:

  • Bachelor, Master or Ph.D. degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Materials Science, Agriculture, Medicine and Pharmacy, Ecology and Environmental Sciences.

English Editor

We are looking for meticulous and highly motivated people to join our team of English Editors and support our scholarly journals. This is a full-time, entry-level position located in our Singapore office. All new editors undergo a probation period in which in-house training is provided by a senior editor. The position of Assistant Editor is a full-time position based in Singapore.

As an English Editor, you will need to:

  • Accurately edit scholarly articles, working to short deadlines and meeting work targets with a high degree of consistency;
  • Edit corporate material (e.g., announcements, flyers, or webpages) and support journal editors with English-related tasks;

Marketing Manager

As the Marketing Manager for MDPI Singapore, you will take charge of spearheading marketing endeavours not only within Singapore but also across the Asia-Pacific region, with the main goal of solidifying MDPI's position as the world’s largest open-access academic publisher. Your role necessitates the maintenance of a professional image, consistently reflecting the company's mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies, encompassing both online and offline campaigns, to enhance MDPI's presence in Singapore and the APAC region.
  • Conduct in-depth research on industry trends and competitor activities, utilizing findings to refine marketing strategies and regularly reporting insights to the regional director.
  • Supervise content creation across diverse social media platforms, elevating awareness of MDPI's journals and bolstering its standing within the scholarly community across the region.
  • Serve as the company's representative at key academic conferences overseeing booth setup and ensuring seamless on-site operations.
  • Coordinate overseas scholar visits, managing all aspects of planning, communication, and administrative duties.
