This study analyses the dynamic impact between winter wheat grains (‘Memory’ cultivar) and a flat metal surface under normal collisions. Four moisture levels (7%, 10%, 13% and 16%) and impact velocities from 1.0 to 4.5 m·s−1 were chosen to reflect conditions in agricultural machinery. A custom test rig—comprising a transparent drop guide, a high-sensitivity piezoelectric force sensor and a high-speed camera—recorded grain velocity by vision techniques and contact force at 1 MHz. Force–time curves were examined to evaluate restitution velocity, the coefficient of restitution (CoR) and the effect of moisture on elastic–plastic deformation. CoR decreased non-linearly as impact velocity rose from 1.0 to 5.0 m·s−1, and moisture content increased from 7% to 16%, falling from ≈ 0.60 to 0.40–0.50. Grains with higher moisture struck at higher velocities showed greater plastic deformation, longer contact times and intensified energy dissipation, making them more susceptible to internal damage. The data provide validated reference values for discrete element method (DEM) calibration and will assist engineers in designing grain-handling equipment that minimises mechanical damage during harvesting, conveying and processing. Performance Assessment of Landsat-9 Atmospheric Correction Methods in Global Aquatic Systems

The latest satellite in the Landsat series, Landsat-9, was successfully launched on 27 September 2021, equipped with the Operational Land Imager-2 (OLI-2) sensor, continuing the legacy of OLI/Landsat-8. To evaluate the uncertainties in water surface reflectance derived from OLI-2, this study conducts a comprehensive performance assessment of six atmospheric correction (AC) methods—DSF, C2RCC, iCOR, L2gen (NIR-SWIR1), L2gen (NIR-SWIR2), and Polymer—using in-situ measurements from 14 global sites, including 13 AERONET-OC stations and 1 MOBY station, collected between 2021 and 2023. Error analysis shows that L2gen (NIR-SWIR1) (RMSE ≤ 0.0017 sr−1, SA = 6.33°) and L2gen (NIR-SWIR2) (RMSE ≤ 0.0019 sr−1, SA = 6.38°) provide the best results across four visible bands, demonstrating stable performance across different optical water types (OWTs) ranging from clear to turbid water. Following these are C2RCC (RMSE ≤ 0.0030 sr−1, SA = 5.74°) and Polymer (RMSE ≤ 0.0027 sr−1, SA = 7.76°), with DSF (RMSE ≤ 0.0058 sr−1, SA = 11.33°) and iCOR (RMSE ≤ 0.0051 sr−1, SA = 12.96°) showing the poorest results. By comparing the uncertainty and consistency of Landsat-9 (OLI-2) with Sentinel-2A/B (MSI) and S-NPP/NOAA20 (VIIRS), results show that OLI-2 has similar uncertainties to MSI and VIIRS in the blue, blue-green, and green bands, with RMSE differences within 0.0002 sr−1. In the red band, the OLI-2 uncertainties are lower than those of MSI but higher than those of VIIRS, with an RMSE difference of about 0.0004 sr−1. Overall, OLI-2 data processed using L2gen provide reliable surface reflectance and show high consistency with MSI and VIIRS, making it suitable for integrating multi-satellite observations to enhance global coastal water color monitoring. Background: Thrombotic adverse events and disease progression are crucial in Polycythemia Vera (PV), as it stands as the leading cause of mortality. The pulse wave velocity (PWV) is a valuable indicator of arterial aging and often plays a significant independent role in contributing to cardiovascular adverse events (CV-AEs). The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between PWV and critical vascular function parameters, with the goal of identifying new predictive factors of vascular damage and exploring a potential connection with disease progression. Methods: Non-invasive aortic stiffness was assessed through carotid–femoral PWV measurement. PWV was measured using the SphygmoCor device. History of arterial or venous thrombosis (TAEs) or other CV-AEs was collected at baseline. PWV measurements were repeated at baseline, at 6 and at 12 months. Results: The study involved 28 PV patients aged 27 to 77 years, with 57.1% being male. Fourteen patients (50%) reported a high-risk thrombotic score at diagnosis, and 60.7% had at least one comorbidity. Multivariable regression models showed that hemoglobin levels were independently associated with PWV (β: 0.68, SE 0.24, p < 0.01). During the follow-up period (median duration 21.3 months, range 6–33), a total of 13 events were documented. Specifically, two patients exhibited a loss of response to treatment, four patients presented an increase in spleen diameters, three patients displayed an escalation of systemic symptoms, and three patients had a clear progression to secondary myelofibrosis. PWV (per 1 m/s: OR 1.70, 95% CI 1.00–2.91, p = 0.047) and leukocyte count (per 1 × 103/μL: OR 1.47, 95% CI: 1.04–2.09, p = 0.043) were significant predictors of events, independently of waist circumference, blood pressure, treatment, and hematocrit. Conclusions: PWV has demonstrated its potential as an effective tool for monitoring PV patients. It stands as a clinical parameter that can predict the risk of progression in PV patients. Further investigation is essential to fully explore this potential. If successful, it could offer clinicians a valuable resource for effectively managing PV patients. Full article

This article examines why Paul uses self-praise, or periautology, in Phil 3:2–14 to respond to Christians who boasted of their Jewish origin. It shows the importance and relevance of this type of rhetoric, clarifies its purpose, and examines the way Paul uses it. Paul does not only use periautology in Phil 3, but it is in this passage that it has the most force and originality. As, until now, very few monographs and articles have shown the existence of periautology in the Pauline letters, this article invites exegetes to be more sensitive to the existence of literary models and their importance for better interpreting the apostle’s thought.
