In the sustainability concept, one of the most important areas is sustainable waste management, a system that significantly impacts both economic and social well-being. The aim of this paper is to create a unique model that can contribute to better and more promising waste management in local governments in order to increase the level of sustainability. The scientific contribution and novelty of this research is reflected in developing the Fuzzy M-FullEX (Modified Fuller’s triangle approach extended) method for defining fuzzy weight coefficients of criteria and its integration with the Fuzzy ROV (range of value) method for ranking multifunctional machines. The unique model developed in this study encompasses 10 criteria and seven alternative solutions, including the two aforementioned Fuzzy MCDM (multi-criteria decision-making) methods and the Bonferroni operator for averaging expert assessments. The results of the Fuzzy M-FullEX-Fuzzy ROV model based on the preferences of three experts define the best multifunctional machine for efficient and sustainable waste management, which is the Venieri. The rankings are as follows: M1 > M3 > M2 > M4 > M5 > M6 > M7. The obtained results were confirmed through extensive analysis (sensitivity, comparative analysis, correlation coefficients, different matrix size) and discussion. Full article

Professional drivers play a crucial role in many businesses and the lives of people. They are responsible for transferring people and goods between distant points, enabling safe and efficient flows. The road traffic death rate is from 8.3 to 27.5 per 100,000 inhabitants in the countries globally. Because professional drivers spend a significant amount of time on the road, their appropriate selection may contribute to general traffic safety. In addition, an adequate selection of candidates significantly impacts the financial costs of the employing company. However, the recruitment procedure is a very complex task where multiple criteria should be considered. By its nature, this is a typical multi-criteria decision-making problem. The purpose of this paper is twofold: to contribute to the methodological, as well as to the professional field. Considering the professional, we propose a decision-making tool in the procedure of professional driver selection. There are several methodological contributions. By reviewing the literature, we identified 14 criteria for candidate selection. In the proposed model, by using expert opinion and implementing DEMATEL and Fuller’s pairwise comparisons, we ranked these criteria and determined the seven most important for further calculation procedure. Here, we introduced an original approach for measuring the reliability of obtained answers. Then, to rank the candidates, the fuzzy AROMAN approach is applied for the first time in the literature. The input data were obtained in the form of a survey, where the experts evaluated the importance of criteria and their interrelation. We used MS Excel and MATLAB for data processing. An additional methodological contribution of this study is an advancement of the AROMAN method by the proposal of an algorithm for the calculation of parameter λ used in the final ranking formula. To illustrate the applicability of the proposed model, a case study is provided. Based on the results, we can conclude that the new methodological approaches can be successfully used in the procedure of professional driver selection, as well as in solving other multi-criteria decision-making problems. This assessment of societal readiness and resilience to water-related situations in the Czech Republic focuses on an interdisciplinary approach in the Czech Republic for solving this problem. The goal of the article is to evaluate and characterize the preparedness for handling water-related crises. The analysis is carried out via a SWOT analysis, which is a universal analytical method used to understand and interpret strengths and weaknesses and to identify opportunities and threats. For the calculation of the weight factor of the SWOT analysis, an assessment was determined based on the multicriteria analysis. The pair comparison method was used to determine the relative importance of the parameters of the strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The Fuller Triangle method was chosen for the system used to make the comparisons of the individual criteria. The uniqueness of the study consists of the issue of water management, which is thus reflected from a non-traditional perspective, being a contemporary model—the paradigm of the view on the preparedness of the planning documentation as one of the characteristics of societal resilience for water-related crises. The result of the research is the fact that a positive approach prevails in the researched area from the perspective of preparedness for water-related crises. For the creation of the conditions, the factors arising from the internal environment currently prevail slightly over those arising from the external environment. Full article
