This study presents a bibliometric and thematic analysis of economic convergence analysis from 1982 to 2025, based on a corpus of 2924 Scopus-indexed articles. Using VOSviewer and the bibliometrix R package, this research maps the field’s intellectual structure, identifying five main thematic clusters: (1) formal statistical models, (2) institutional-contextual approaches, (3) theoretical–statistical foundations, (4) nonlinear historical dynamics, and (5) normative and policy assessments. These reflect a shift from descriptive to explanatory and prescriptive frameworks, with growing integration of sustainability, spatial analysis, and institutional factors. The most productive journals include Journal of Econometrics (121 articles), Applied Economics (117), and Journal of Cleaner Production (81), while seminal contributions by Quah, Im et al., and Levin et al. anchor the co-citation network. International collaboration is significant, with 25.99% of publications involving cross-country co-authorship, particularly in European and North American networks. The field has grown at a compound annual rate of 14.4%, accelerating after 2000 and peaking in 2022–2024, indicating sustained academic interest. These findings highlight the maturation of convergence analysis as a multidisciplinary domain. Practically, this study underscores the value of composite indicators and spatial econometric models for monitoring regional, environmental, and technological convergence—offering policymakers tools for inclusive growth, climate resilience, and innovation strategies. Moreover, the emergence of clusters around sustainability and digital transformation reveals fertile ground for future research at the intersection of transitions in energy, digital, and institutional domains and sustainable development (a broader sense of structural change). The arts sector—museums, theaters, and orchestras—in the United States and Europe faces increasing financial and operational challenges, from declining attendance to reduced public and private funding. While these organizations have historically pursued their goals independently, their future may depend on fostering collaboration across these traditionally siloed institutions. By pooling resources, expertise, and, most importantly, audiences, cross-disciplinary partnerships can amplify the impact of cultural institutions while addressing shared challenges. For instance, museums and performing arts organizations could collaborate on immersive experiences that integrate visual and performing arts, attracting a broader and more diverse audience base. Similarly, joint programming and shared digital platforms could reduce overhead costs and expand outreach. These partnerships also enable the arts to present a unified case for public and philanthropic support, leading to greater collective societal impact. Drawing on successful examples of cross-sector collaboration, this paper explores practical strategies for fostering synergies among arts institutions. By working together, the arts can not only enhance their resilience in a challenging environment but also redefine how cultural experiences are created and consumed, ensuring their relevance and vibrancy for future generations. Background/Objectives: Engaging in regular physical activity (PA) and reducing sedentary behaviors benefits youth health, especially for those with disabilities. However, two-thirds of European children remain insufficiently active. In schools, Active Breaks, brief 5–15 min PA sessions led by teachers during or between lessons, offer a feasible strategy to increase movement. This study investigated teachers’ perceptions of ABs by comparing implementers and non-implementers, examining facilitators and barriers to implementation, and exploring their potential to support the inclusion of students with disabilities. Methods: An observational cross-sectional study was conducted among primary and secondary school teachers in the Emilia-Romagna region (Italy), all of whom had completed a 6 h training course on the implementation of ABs. Data were collected using an ad hoc questionnaire consisting of four sections: sociodemographic data, an adapted Attitudes Toward Physical Activity scale, ABs’ practicality/sustainability, and inclusiveness. Results: Overall, 65% of teachers reported implementing ABs, with higher adoption in primary (69.5%) than secondary schools (58.6%). Implementers reported more positive perceptions and attitudes across individual, classroom, and school-support domains (p < 0.05). In addition, primary teachers consistently scored higher than their secondary counterparts, particularly in terms of class characteristics and benefit perceptions (p < 0.001). Most teachers, especially in primary schools (84.2%), reported no difficulties, although one-third of secondary teachers reported challenges. Exploratory factor analysis on barrier items identified two dimensions (practical/logistical feasibility; institutional/procedural difficulties), but internal consistency was low. Teachers mainly reported using motor activities, with sessions lasting 5–10 min, typically scheduled mid-morning. Inclusion analysis revealed that 60% of teachers had students with disabilities in their classes. While most students participated without adjustments, 25% required occasional or consistent modifications. Conclusions: ABs are a practical and inclusive strategy to reduce SBs in schools. However, not all teachers are currently able to implement them, due to varying contextual constraints, levels of support, and perceived barriers. Primary school settings appear more conducive to their integration, whereas secondary schools may require more tailored support. Fostering teacher confidence, peer collaboration, and inclusive planning can enhance both the implementation and long-term sustainability of educational initiatives. Full article

The Ōbaku Edition of the Buddhist Canon, initiated and spearheaded by Tetsugen Dōkō (鐵眼道光 1630–1682), profoundly influenced Japanese Buddhism and printing culture. Although the Ōbaku Edition has long been recognized as a product of cross-border collaboration, earlier studies have primarily focused on its textual features and religious significance after publication. As a result, the specific mechanisms and significance of its transnational nature have remained underexplored. This study revisits the canon’s compilation as a complex trans-sectarian and transnational social practice. Drawing on a variety of sources, it provides new insights into the production of the Ōbaku Canon, showing that this trans-sectarian project was driven by the interplay of several key dynamics: transnational networks supplying its base text, intellectual contributions from Chinese migrants, local social needs in post-fire Nagasaki, and Tetsugen’s personal aim to use the canon in doctrinal debate. Tetsugen’s printing endeavor continued the medieval tradition of kanjin (fundraising), serving as a religious, educational, and institutional undertaking shaped by interactions with broader socio-economic support. Positioned within a wider social framework, Tetsugen’s cross-sectarian activities facilitated the successful circulation and popularization of the canon, promoting a shift in the use of Buddhist scriptures from prayer-centered practice to doctrinal study and reflecting a broader transformation in Japanese Buddhism, from state-supported Buddhism to more popular forms. Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) poses a significant global threat to human and animal health, necessitating robust surveillance and stewardship tools. While existing systems address aspects of veterinary AMR, a comprehensive, user-centric dashboard for U.S. veterinarians remains a critical unmet need. This study aimed to identify U.S. veterinarians’ preferences and perceived needs for such a dashboard, to help guide its design and development. A cross-sectional survey was conducted between January and March 2024, targeting U.S. veterinarians through professional channels. The survey instrument captured demographics, experiences with existing tools, preferences for data types and visualizations, desired technical specifications, and open-ended feedback. Of the 677 respondents, a near-unanimous consensus (over 75%) emerged on the importance of functionalities like antimicrobial stewardship education, off-label use guidance, surveillance data, and empirical treatment support. Over 70% expressed comfort sharing aggregated geographic and de-identified animal data. A strong preference was observed for making the dashboard accessible by veterinary colleges (78.87%), diagnostic laboratories (72.61%), and federal agencies (USDA: 71.47%, CDC: 66.67%, FDA: 62.11%), indicating a desire for a collaborative, authoritative system. The findings provide a robust foundation for developing a U.S. veterinary AMR dashboard. Future phases should adopt an iterative, user-centered design, incorporating qualitative research with diverse stakeholders and piloting a prototype with preferred institutional partners. This approach will ensure a trusted, sustainable tool that effectively translates surveillance data into actionable insights for improved animal and public health. Full article

Privacy-preserving secure multi-party computation protocols are known to face scalability and efficiency challenges in environments where participants hold distinct attributes of the same records (vertical partitioning) or controls a subset of complete records (horizontal partitioning), as in cross-institutional health data analysis or federated IoT analytics, mostly because of communication overhead and the need to address adaptability to large scale or heterogeneous settings. This work introduces a novel MPC protocol based on the Damgård–Jurik cryptosystem and Schnorr zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP), designed to securely aggregate private data distributed across a number of parties. By combining homomorphic encryption with non-interactive ZKP’s, the protocol ensures privacy, correctness, and scalability, aligning with the principles of privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs). Our approach minimizes data exposure, allowing participants to audit results, and achieves linear O(N) communication complexity, thus making it suitable for large-scale applications in secure data analytics and collaborative computing. Background: Although evidence-based practice is widely promoted in nursing, direct care nurses remain underrepresented in research activities. This study aimed to assess nurses’ attitudes toward research, their perceptions of the organizational research environment, and their levels of involvement, as well as identify key barriers and facilitators to engagement within a comprehensive healthcare system. This study also explored how racial and ethnic diversity within the nursing workforce may shape research engagement and contribute new perspectives to the field. Methods: A cross-sectional electronic survey was administered to registered nurses across 10 hospitals in a Northeast U.S. health system. The survey instrument assessed research attitudes, environment, involvement (past, present, future), and demographics. Descriptive and inferential statistics, including matched-pairs t-tests, were used to analyze responses. Results: Of 7655 invited nurses, 1094 responses were analyzed. Respondents were predominantly female (88.5%), White (56.8%), and employed full-time (87.1%) as clinical staff nurses (77.3%). While 54.8% had completed a formal research course (mainly within the past 1–3 years), informal research and statistics training were uncommon (17.4% and 5.4%, respectively). Nurses reported highly positive attitudes toward research (composite M = 2.15, SD = 0.51), especially its role in guiding practice, professional growth, and education. However, actual involvement was low. The most common current activities included practice change based on research (20.7%) and participation in committees (18.8%). Anticipated future engagement increased substantially, particularly in collaboration (+21.3%), committee participation (+20.6%), and IRB submission (+18.2%). The research environment was perceived as under-resourced, particularly in terms of protected time, funding, and mentorship. Statistically significant gaps were observed between perceived present and desired future supports (p < 0.01 for all 15 items). The Research Awareness Index revealed high rates of uncertainty about available resources (e.g., 66.1% did not know if internal funding existed). Conclusions: Nurses demonstrate strong positive attitudes and a desire to engage in research, including more advanced roles. Yet structural and informational barriers, particularly a lack of protected time, mentorship, and awareness of existing supports, limit participation. Investments in infrastructure, communication, and accessible development pathways are needed to translate nurses’ readiness into active research engagement. Implications: Institutions should prioritize making research support more visible and navigable while investing in mentorship, protected time, and user-friendly infrastructure. Addressing both facets will empower a highly motivated nursing workforce to engage in and lead practice-relevant research. Full article

The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the development of virtual internationalization (VI) in higher education institutions (HEIs). Yet, how it becomes normalized and how digital governance factors collectively address the challenges arising from its implementation remain underexplored, particularly in non-Anglophone contexts. This qualitative study draws on eight focus group discussions involving 46 participants from Austria, Belgium, China, Portugal, Poland, and Türkiye. Guided by Actor-Network Theory (ANT), the study reveals that VI has been widely normalized through pandemic-driven adaptations. While its conceptual boundaries remain contested and continually negotiated amid rapid technological advancement, the findings illuminate VI’s expansive international outreach and potential for building institutional global visibility and national soft power. Despite the normalization of VI, its implementation is constrained by pedagogical, technological, and cross-cultural factors, alongside governance and management complexities. An interdependent system of digital governance factors has also been identified across strategic, operational, human, and collaborative dimensions. This study concludes that effective VI implementation does not arise from static policies but from the continuous negotiation and coordinated alignment of these digital governance factors. This study conducted a systematic review of 222 research articles (2014–2024) from the Web of Science Core Collection database to investigate the ecological and environmental impacts of pumped hydro storage (PHS). Utilizing CiteSpace 6.1R software for visual analysis, the research hotspots and evolutionary trends over the past decade were comprehensively examined. Key findings include the following: (1) Annual publication output exhibited sustained growth, with China contributing 29.7% of total publications, ranking first globally. (2) Research institutions demonstrated broad geographical distribution but weak collaborative networks, as the top 10 institutions accounted for only 21.6% of total publications, highlighting untapped potential for cross-regional cooperation. (3) Current research focuses on three domains: ecological–environmental benefit assessment, renewable energy synergistic integration, and power grid regulation optimization. Emerging trends emphasize multi-objective planning (e.g., economic–ecological trade-offs) and hybrid system design (e.g., solar–wind–PHS coordinated dispatch), providing critical support for green energy transitions. (4) Post-2020 research has witnessed novel thematic directions, including deepened studies on wind–PHS coupling and life-cycle assessment (LCA). Policy-driven renewable energy integration research entered an explosive growth phase, with PHS–photovoltaic–wind complementary technologies emerging as a core innovation pathway. Future research should prioritize strengthening institutional collaboration networks, exploring region-specific ecological impact mechanisms, and advancing policy–technology–environment multi-dimensional frameworks for practical applications. This study explores the digital organization of cultural heritage knowledge across national GLAM institutions (galleries, libraries, archives, and museums) in the ten ASEAN countries. By employing a qualitative content analysis approach, this research study investigates the types, structures, and dissemination patterns of information resources available on 40 institutional websites. The findings reveal the diversity and richness of Southeast Asian cultural heritage, including national and local wisdom, history, significant figures, and material culture, collected and curated by these institutions. This study identifies key knowledge domains, content overlaps across GLAM sectors, and limitations in metadata and interoperability. Comparative analysis with international cultural knowledge infrastructures, such as the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)’s framework, Europeana, and the World Digital Library, highlights both shared values and regional distinctions. While GLAMs in the ASEAN have made significant strides in digital preservation and access, the lack of standardized metadata and cross-institutional integration impedes broader discoverability and reuse. This study contributes to the discourse on heritage informatics by providing an empirical foundation for enhancing digital cultural heritage systems in developing regions. The implications point toward the need for interoperable metadata standards, regional collaboration, and capacity building to support sustainable digital heritage ecosystems. This research study offers practical insights for policymakers, digital curators, and information professionals seeking to improve cultural knowledge infrastructures in Southeast Asia and similar contexts. Extended reality (XR) technologies are gaining traction in technical education due to their potential for creating immersive and interactive training environments. This study presents the development and empirical evaluation of X-RAPT, a collaborative VR-based platform designed to train students in industrial robotics programming. The system enables multi-user interaction, cross-platform compatibility (VR and PC), and real-time data logging through a modular simulation framework. A pilot evaluation was conducted in a vocational training institute with 15 students performing progressively complex tasks in alternating roles using both VR and PC interfaces. Performance metrics were captured automatically from system logs, while post-task questionnaires assessed usability, comfort, and interaction quality. The findings indicate high user engagement and a distinct learning curve, evidenced by progressively shorter task completion times across levels of increasing complexity. Role-based differences were observed, with main users showing greater interaction frequency but both roles contributing meaningfully. Although hardware demands and institutional constraints limited the scale of the pilot, the findings support the platform’s potential for enhancing robotics education. Full article

The presented findings are derived from the project #STANDFORSOMETHING, coordinated by the European Youth Card Association, funded by the European Parliament, with the aim of thoroughly investigating the perspectives and opinions of European youth regarding the European Union (EU) and its institutions—a historically under-researched cohort—despite their impact on the future policy agenda. The crucial question in this research is to understand the effect of issue salience on the dispositions of citizens towards the EU, whether positive or negative, but also to understand the impact on the development of a European identity or the perseverance of a national identity. This threefold relationship explored in the attitudes of the youth can reveal a behavioral algorithm that can explain the rhythm of European integration on a cultural and political level and its variances across different countries. This collaborative effort involved a quantitative part—a survey with 3000 young respondents from across all EU Member States—and a qualitative part. An advanced comparative data analysis brings forward a significant connection between the youth’s attitudes towards the EU, their sense of European identity, and their major issues of concern. On a cross-national analysis, the EU map is segmented into four distinct behavior patterns across specific geographical zones, underscoring the diversity and depth of youth attitude and issue profiles across Europe, resulting in a specific tool to be used by European policymakers. Recently, the market for miniaturized Unmanned Agricultural Robots has experienced rapid development worldwide, driven by advances in robotics, artificial intelligence and precision agriculture. These technologies are no longer confined to highly industrialized countries but are increasingly penetrating emerging economies, including Romania, where they hold significant potential for transforming farming practices and entrepreneurial competitiveness. The purpose of the present paper is to present strategies for enhancing the competitive advantage of agricultural entrepreneurs in Romania’s Central Region. This is achieved by leveraging competitive advantage through value creation, specifically by deepening strategies for the rapid integration of new miniaturized robotic products. The research employed a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques to investigate the ability of key stakeholders—agricultural entrepreneurs, precision agriculture product/service providers, institutional representatives, and investors—to dynamically adapt to evolving market conditions. The study’s findings reveal a strong interest and readiness among precision agriculture stakeholders to adopt advanced technologies, supported by robust operational knowledge management practices including external knowledge acquisition, strategic partnerships and data protection. Although agricultural entrepreneurs exhibit considerable adaptive and absorptive capacities—evidenced by their openness to innovation and collaboration—persistent barriers such as high equipment costs and limited financing access continue to impede the broad adoption of miniaturized robotic solutions. The study concludes by emphasizing the need for supportive policies and collaborative financing models and it suggests future research on adoption dynamics, cross-country comparisons and the role of education in accelerating agricultural robotics. UAV delivery and ground transfer scheduling in emergency scenarios represent critical technological systems for enhancing disaster response capabilities and safeguarding lives and property. This study systematically reviews recent advances across eight core research domains: UAV emergency delivery systems, ground–air integrated transportation coordination, emergency logistics optimization, UAV path planning and scheduling algorithms, collaborative optimization between ground vehicles and UAVs, emergency response decision support systems, low-altitude economy and urban air traffic management, and intelligent transportation system integration. Research findings indicate that UAV delivery technologies in emergency contexts have evolved from single-aircraft applications to intelligent multi-modal collaborative systems, demonstrating significant advantages in medical supply distribution, disaster relief, and search-and-rescue operations. Current technological development exhibits four major trends: hybrid optimization algorithms, multi-UAV cooperation, artificial intelligence enhancement, and real-time adaptation capabilities. However, critical challenges persist, including regulatory framework integration, adverse weather adaptability, cybersecurity protection, human–machine interface design, cost–benefit assessment, and standardization deficiencies. Future research should prioritize distributed decision architectures, robustness optimization, cross-domain collaboration mechanisms, emerging technology integration, and practical application validation. This comprehensive review provides systematic theoretical foundations and practical guidance for emergency management agencies in formulating technology development strategies, enterprises in investment planning, and research institutions in determining research priorities. Background: The Nursing Work Environment (NWE) plays a critical role in determining the quality of care, staff well-being, and organizational performance, particularly in oncology settings. Despite increasing attention, a comprehensive synthesis of organizational factors shaping oncology NWEs has been lacking. This scoping review aimed to describe the key features of oncology NWEs and to explore the outcomes associated with these characteristics. Methods: A scoping review was conducted following the Joanna Briggs Institute guidelines. Peer-reviewed studies published in English or Italian were included without time restrictions. Literature searches were performed in MEDLINE via PubMed, CINAHL, and Scopus between January and April 2025. Results: Twenty studies met the inclusion criteria. Key organizational characteristics of oncology NWEs were grouped into the following four domains: leadership and organizational support; workload and resource availability; ethical climate and collegial relationships; and physical and structural conditions of care settings. Across the studies, a positive NWE was frequently reported to be associated with improved nurse-related outcomes and, to a lesser extent, with patient-related outcomes. However, these associations should be interpreted with caution due to the heterogeneity of contexts and the predominance of cross-sectional designs. Conclusions: The NWE is a strategic element in delivering effective, safe, and sustainable oncology care. Practical actions for nurse managers and healthcare leaders include implementing leadership training programs, ensuring adequate staffing and resource allocation, fostering open communication, and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration. These measures are essential to protect staff well-being and guarantee high-quality, patient-centered care. Full article
