Drawing on experience–satisfaction–loyalty, this study models how specific digital retail interface attributes translate into behavioural outcomes. Survey data from Portuguese online shoppers were analysed with PLS-SEM to test a formative–reflective framework linking Interactivity and Technologies, Trust–Security–Privacy, Fulfilment and Service Quality, Usability and Web Design, Personalisation and Customisation and Omnichannel Integration to customer experience (CX), customer satisfaction (CS), customer loyalty (CL) and electronic word of mouth (eWOM). The model explains 62.6% of CX, 70.1% of CS and 66.7% of CL. CX is strongly associated with CS and CS, in turn, with CL; associations with eWOM are non-significant, revealing a theoretical blind spot around advocacy. Interactivity and Technologies, Trust–Security–Privacy and Fulfilment and Service Quality emerge as the most significant antecedents of CX, whereas Omnichannel Integration is inert. The findings advance digital commerce theory by decoupling advocacy from evaluative satisfaction and by reconceptualising integration as multidimensional. Practically, they prioritise investment in interactive, secure and fulfilment capabilities while signalling that loyalty is not associated with advocacy. This study concludes by outlining measurement refinements and longitudinal avenues to capture social–motivational drivers of eWOM. Full article

As a part of sustainable transportation, robotaxis have been rapidly developing around the world because of their advantages in energy saving, improving road safety, and enhancing environmental sustainability, thereby providing consumers with sustainable transportation services. In China, as the number of pilot cities increases, more people are using robotaxi services. This study investigates the factors that affect consumer satisfaction and behavioral intentions after using a robotaxi, aiming to provide data to guide market strategy decisions. To do this, the value-based adoption model was extended and modified by including the technology readiness variable to examine satisfaction, intention to reuse, and electronic word-of-mouth (e-WOM) intentions. Using 425 valid responses, structural equation modeling (SEM) and multi-group analysis were carried out with AMOS 26.0. The results indicate that perceived usefulness, enjoyment, optimism, and innovativeness positively influence service satisfaction, whereas perceived risk and discomfort have negative effects. Consumer satisfaction positively affects both intention to reuse and e-WOM intention. Additionally, uncertainty avoidance shows a moderating effect between satisfaction and intention to reuse. To address the misalignment between conservation–development policies and villagers’ needs in traditional villages, this study identifies core demands through a questionnaire survey in 112 villages across three counties in Hubei Province, China. An evaluation system encompassing public facilities, infrastructure, exterior environment, interior environment, and village culture (23 indicators) was analyzed using the Kano model and Better–Worse coefficients (211 valid questionnaires). Results reveal the primary needs ranking: village culture > exterior environment > interior environment > infrastructure > public services. Key findings show villagers prioritize traditional building conservation, cultural identity, and roof improvement, while certain public service investments (e.g., water supply, signage, education) yield lower satisfaction. Notably, villagers are indifferent to lighting improvements. This indicates a deviation from past government priorities and underscores the necessity of integrating villager perspectives into “top-down” decision-making for sustainable village development. The findings provide practical guidance for habitat improvement and precise policy formulation in Northeastern Hubei. Full article

This study examines patterns of artificial intelligence (AI) adoption in Ecuadorian micro and small enterprises (MSEs), with an emphasis on functional diversity across value chain activities. Based on a cross-sectional dataset of 781 enterprises and an entropy-based model, it assesses internal variability in AI use and explores its relationship with strategic perception and dynamic capabilities. The findings reveal predominant partial adoption, alongside high functional entropy in sectors such as mining and services, suggesting an ongoing phase of technological experimentation. However, a significant gap emerges between perceived strategic use and actual functional configurations—especially among microenterprises—indicating a misalignment between intent and organizational capacity. Barriers to adoption include limited technical skills, high costs, infrastructure constraints, and cultural resistance, yet over 70% of non-adopters express future adoption intentions. Regional analysis identifies both the Andean Highlands and Coastal regions as “innovative,” although with distinct profiles of digital maturity. While microenterprises focus on accessible tools (e.g., chatbots), small enterprises engage in data analytics and automation. Correlation analyses reveal no significant relationship between functional diversity and strategic value or capability development, underscoring the importance of qualitative organizational factors. While primarily descriptive, the entropy-based approach provides a robust diagnostic baseline that can be complemented by multivariate or qualitative methods to uncover causal mechanisms and strengthen policy implications. The proposed framework offers a replicable and adaptable tool for characterizing AI integration and informing differentiated support policies, with relevance for Ecuador and other emerging economies facing fragmented digital transformation. Hybrid fiber-reinforced concrete (HFRC), renowned for its significantly enhanced mechanical properties and structural integrity, is widely used in infrastructure construction and has become a key avenue of modern high-performance concrete development. The hybrid application of basalt fiber (BF) and polypropylene fiber (PPF) at optimized ratios generates synergistic effects, improving both mechanical performance and material service reliability. To explore and evaluate the synergistic mechanism of BF-PPF hybrid fibers on concrete’s mechanical properties and performance, this study employs an orthogonal experimental design and mechanical testing methods, measuring the materials’ static compressive strength (loading rate: 0.6 mm/min), splitting tensile strength (loading rate: 0.12–0.14 MPa/s), dynamic elastic modulus (measured by the ultrasonic method), and dynamic compressive strength (loading rates: 0.6 mm/min, 6 mm/min, and 60 mm/min). For these tests, we prepared 100 mm × 100 mm × 100 mm cubic specimens (for static compressive, dynamic compressive, and splitting tensile tests) and 400 mm × 100 mm × 100 mm prismatic specimens (for dynamic elastic modulus tests), with three parallel specimens in each test group. In addition, the microstructure was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to observe the fiber-matrix interaction. The results show that when the BF/PPF volume ratio is 1:2 (BF0.05PPF0.1), the concrete’s compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, and elastic modulus increase by 13.7%, 76.3%, and 116.0%, respectively, with corresponding synergistic effect indices (Q) of 0.057, 0.213, and 0.241, indicating obvious positive synergy. Under dynamic loading, hybrid combinations with higher PPF content (e.g., BF0.05PPF0.1) exhibit strain-rate-dependent enhancements in compressive strength and better impact resistance. SEM analysis reveals that fibers inhibit microcrack propagation through fiber bridging, network distribution, and pull-out resistance, while also improving the interfacial transition zone’s structure. These findings provide theoretical support for the engineering application of composite fiber-reinforced concrete materials. Full article

The rapid response of emergency vehicles is crucial but often hindered because sirens lose effectiveness in modern traffic due to soundproofing, noise, and distractions. Automatic in-vehicle detection can help, but existing solutions struggle with efficiency, interpretability, and embedded suitability. This paper presents a hardware-constrained Simulink implementation of a yelp siren detector designed for embedded operation. Building on a MATLAB-based proof-of-concept validated in an idealized floating-point setting, the present system reflects practical implementation realities. Key features include the use of a realistically modeled digital-to-analog converter (DAC), filter designs restricted to standard E-series component values, interrupt service routine (ISR)-driven processing, and fixed-point data type handling that mirror microcontroller execution. For benchmarking, the dataset used in the earlier proof-of-concept to tune system parameters was also employed to train three representative machine learning classifiers (k-nearest neighbors, support vector machine, and neural network), serving as reference classifiers. To assess generalization, 200 test signals were synthesized with AudioLDM using real siren and road noise recordings as inputs. On this test set, the proposed system outperformed the reference classifiers and, when compared with state-of-the-art methods reported in the literature, achieved competitive accuracy while preserving low complexity. Background: COVID-19 has limited pregnant and postpartum women’s access to mental health services, leading to the introduction of online interventions. Objectives: This study aims to compare the effectiveness of telepsychotherapy (i.e., psychotherapy provided through digital technology supporting real-time interactivity in the audio or audiovisual modality) with the one yielded by face-to-face interventions in treating perinatal depression and anxiety and to assess the therapist’s perceived alliance in both interventions. Methods: We collected anamnestic information and obstetrical risk factors for 61 women. We evaluated the effectiveness of face-to-face (N = 31) vs. telepsychotherapy (N = 30) interventions on depressive and anxiety symptoms at baseline (T0) and the end of treatment (T1) using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI-Y 1 and 2). We assessed the degree of alliance perceived by therapists with the Working Alliance Inventory (WAI-T). Results: Both groups showed significant decreases in depressive (EPDS face-to-face: T0 12.65 ± 5.81, T1 5.77 ± 4.63, p < 0.001; EPDS remote: T0 11.93 ± 5.24, T1 5.70 ± 4.46, p < 0.001; effect size: 0.002) and state anxiety (STAI-Y 1 face-to-face: T0 51.19 ± 13.73, T1 40.23 ± 12.86, p < 0.001; STAI-Y 1 remote: T0 51.10 ± 11.29, T1 38.00 ± 10.90, p < 0.001; effect size: 0.007//STAI-Y 2 face-to-face: T0 43.13 ± 12.11, T1 41.03 ± 13.06, p = 0.302; STAI-Y 2 remote: T0 44.20 ± 8.70, T1 39.30 ± 9.58, p = 0.003; effect size: <0.001) symptoms by the end of treatment. Women treated remotely also experienced a significant reduction in trait anxiety at T1 (p = 0.003). We found no significant differences in either symptomatology (EPDS; STAI-Y) between the two interventions at baseline or in the therapist-perceived alliance. Conclusions: Synchronous telepsychotherapy for perinatal depression and anxiety showed comparable treatment response to face-to-face interventions, with both modalities associated with significant symptom reduction and the establishment of a working alliance. These findings support the potential of telepsychotherapy as a valuable alternative when in-person services are not accessible, especially during emergency contexts. Full article

Degradation of power engineering steel structures requires constant monitoring of their mechanical properties to estimate remaining service life. Therefore, the current study aimed to develop a methodology that will enable for accurate determination of changes in mechanical properties of 10CrMo9-10 steel after long-term exploitation involving the Small Punch Test (SPT). Firstly, the as-received 10CrMo9-10 steel was annealed at 770 °C for different periods (1.5, 6 and 24 h) to deteriorate its strength to a level similar to its exploited counterpart. Then, mechanical properties were characterized by uniaxial tensile tests and the SPT method using miniaturized discs with a diameter of 8 mm and a thickness of 0.5 mm as recommended by the EN 10371:2021 standard. It allowed to determine a formula correlating the SPT results (i.e., elastic–plastic transition force and maximum force) with the yield and ultimate tensile strength. The βRp0.2 and βRm correlation factors were equal to 0.437 and 0.255, respectively. Finally, the exploited 10CrMo9-10 steel was tested by the SPT method. Based on the SPT results, the values of Rp0.2 = 236 ± 27 MPa and Rm = 459 ± 17 MPa were estimated, which were close to those assessed during the uniaxial tensile tests (Rp0.2 = 218 ± 3 MPa and Rm = 454 ± 4 MPa). It was shown that the application of such a relatively simple method is a promising way for determining the changes in mechanical properties of structural steels after long-term service at elevated temperature. Background: Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are a significant health problem associated with performing professional activities. The occurrence of pain often determines the type of work undertaken. Healthcare workers and public administration employees are occupational groups at risk of developing musculoskeletal disorders. The aim of this study was to compare the incidence and location of MSDs between two professional groups—healthcare and administrative workers—and to assess their impact on professional functioning. Methods: The study included 339 employees, comprising 188 healthcare workers and 151 administrative workers. An extended version of the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ-E) was used. Results: Healthcare workers experienced MSDs significantly more often than administrative workers, both in the past and in the last 12 months. MSDs in healthcare workers more often led to absenteeism, changes in duties, use of healthcare services, and medication use. The observed differences were statistically significant, particularly in the upper and lower limbs. Conclusions: Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are a significant health problem among healthcare and administrative workers, but they affect healthcare staff much more frequently, especially in the upper and lower limbs. This results in higher sick leave rates, the need to modify duties, and more frequent use of treatment and painkillers. These differences may result from varying working conditions, age, and education, highlighting the need to implement preventive measures tailored to the specific characteristics of each professional group. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) has been extensively applied in polymeric characterization and quality inspection, facilitating in-depth investigations of the microstructural thermal response characteristics of polymers, including thermal stability, composition analysis, and thermal decomposition mechanisms. Here, the impacts of six factors on the TG thermal analysis curves obtained during operation are systematically examined while analyzing their causes and recommending solutions. Furthermore, the thermal degradation kinetics of an ionomer formed by neutralizing an ethylene–methacrylic acid copolymer with metal ions (SGP membrane) used in laminated tempered glass is analyzed using the Arrhenius equation, Ozawa–Flynn–Wall hypothesis and Kissinger method. Kinetic parameters at 5% degradation are fitted and used to predict the service lifetime of the SGP membrane. The results indicate that the SGP membrane sample exhibits activation energy Ea = 136.90 kJ/mol, reaction order n = 1.65 and pre-factor A = e25.93. It can be seen that the service lifetime of the SGP membrane sample is 16 years at 80 °C and 1.65 years at 100 °C. Full article

This paper introduces ‘ChatGPT essentials’, a pedagogically driven training course for pre-service English as a Foreign language (EFL) teachers at the College of Basic Education (CBE) in Kuwait. It responds to current ethical and academic integrity issues by empowering students to use ChatGPT both effectively and ethically. Prior to ChatGPT essentials training sessions, semi-structured interviews were conducted with twenty-five male undergraduate students in a Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) course to assess their familiarity with ChatGPT for language learning, followed by pedagogical and practical training sessions and a subsequent evaluation. The quantitative analysis indicates that the students generally valued the training on four levels (i.e., reaction, learning, behaviors, and results). Their perceptions and experiences have changed positively, indicating general positive attitudes towards using ChatGPT as a tool to develop their language skills. Qualitative data from post-training interviews and students’ reflective journals revealed that students valued the practical guidance on ethical usage and critical evaluation of ChatGPT practices, which enhanced their digital literacy skills and fostered responsible ChatGPT use. Such findings point to the benefits of implementing pedagogical training to enhance students’ ChatGPT usage. Full article

Establishing a Digitally Enabled Healthcare Framework for Enhanced Prevention, Risk Identification, and Relief for Dementia and Frailty

During the last decade, artificial intelligence (AI) has enabled key technological innovations within the modern dementia and frailty healthcare and prevention landscape. This has boosted the impact of technology in the clinical setting, enabling earlier diagnosis with improved specificity and sensitivity, leading to accurate and time-efficient support that has driven the development of preventative interventions minimizing the risk and rate of progression. Background/Objectives: The rapid ageing of the European population places a substantial strain on the current healthcare system and imposes several challenges. COMFORTage is the joint effort of medical experts (i.e., neurologists, psychiatrists, neuropsychologists, nurses, and memory clinics), social scientists and humanists, technical experts (i.e., data scientists, AI experts, and robotic experts), digital innovation hubs (DIHs), and living labs (LLs) to establish a pan-European framework for community-based, integrated, and people-centric prevention, monitoring, and progression-managing solutions for dementia and frailty. Its main goal is to introduce an integrated and digitally enabled framework that will facilitate the provision of personalized and integrated care prevention and intervention strategies on dementia and frailty, by piloting novel technologies and producing quantified evidence on the impact to individuals’ wellbeing and quality of life. Methods: A robust and comprehensive design approach adopted through this framework provides the guidelines, tools, and methodologies necessary to empower stakeholders by enhancing their health and digital literacy. The integration of the initial information from 13 pilots across 8 European countries demonstrates the scalability and adaptability of this approach across diverse healthcare systems. Through a systematic analysis, it aims to streamline healthcare processes, reduce health inequalities in modern communities, and foster healthy and active ageing by leveraging evidence-based insights and real-world implementations across multiple regions. Results: Emerging technologies are integrated with societal and clinical innovations, as well as with advanced and evidence-based care models, toward the introduction of a comprehensive global coordination framework that: (a) improves individuals’ adherence to risk mitigation and prevention strategies; (b) delivers targeted and personalized recommendations; (c) supports societal, lifestyle, and behavioral changes; (d) empowers individuals toward their health and digital literacy; and (e) fosters inclusiveness and promotes equality of access to health and care services. Conclusions: The proposed framework is designed to enable earlier diagnosis and improved prognosis coupled with personalized prevention interventions. It capitalizes on the integration of technical, clinical, and social innovations and is deployed in 13 real-world pilots to empirically assess its potential impact, ensuring robust validation across diverse healthcare settings. E-commerce platforms offering regional fresh produce often face a trade-off between logistics costs and product quality. Due to limited use of cold chain logistics, consumers frequently receive damaged goods, resulting in negative post-purchase experiences. This study examines how logistics service encounters, as reflected in consumer reviews, influence subsequent purchase behaviour, and how the alignment between review images and text moderates this relationship. We analyse sales and review data from 694 fruit products on Tmall between February and April 2024. Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) is applied to extract logistics-related review content. At the same time, image–text similarity is assessed using the Chinese-CLIP model. Regression analysis reveals that positive logistics service encounters significantly enhance purchase intention. However, high image–text similarity weakens this positive effect, suggesting that overly repetitive content may reduce informational value for prospective buyers. These findings advance understanding of consumer behaviour in online fresh produce markets by highlighting the interactive effects of logistics experiences and user-generated content. The results offer practical implications for improving logistics services, enhancing content diversity in review systems, and increasing consumer trust in e-commerce environments. Full article

Geodiversity mapping is a key topic in the field of geoconservation. Although most methodological proposals are based on quantitative assessments, recent studies on qualitative mapping have shown strong potential for various applications, including relationships with biodiversity, territorial management, and nature conservation. This article presents a qualitative geodiversity map of the Costões e Lagunas Aspiring Geopark, located in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The map was also used to identify geodiversity-related ecosystem services in the territory. The method for generating the map was divided into two steps: first, thematic maps representing geodiversity components were integrated to identify areas where components interact to form specific environments; second, based on these interactions, geodiversity units were defined. Ecosystem services provided by each unit were identified through the analysis of human activities occurring within them. The results show that the geodiversity units provide multiple ecosystem services across different categories and are essential to the well-being of local inhabitants. These findings reinforce the relevance of the qualitative approach and demonstrate that geodiversity mapping can support broader landscape analyses. Thus, qualitative geodiversity maps are effective tools for identifying ecosystem services across extensive areas. Full article

Background/Objectives: The child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS) hand-over to adult mental health service (AMHS) remains an ongoing shortfall in eating disorder (ED) treatment, typically in tandem with diagnostic drift, heightened suicide risk, and carer burn-out. We created one 14-to-25 Transition—ED track within our own unit, where a single multidisciplinary team continuously follows each patient and family across the CAMHS–AMHS boundary (via weekly joint paediatric and adult clinician meeting) without changing the individual psychotherapist, family therapist, or dietitian at the age 18 transition. We investigated the manner in which patients and parents perceive this model. Methods: A survey of two naturalistic parent cohorts—CAMHS (n = 16) and Transition—Adult arm (n = 15)—also joined, alongside the original group of young adults who had entered the programme during its set-up phase (n = 9). Here, the 14–25 pathway denotes one unified route of care across adolescence and young adulthood; the Transition—Adult arm is its ≥ 18-years component. All index patients had a primary DSM-5-TR diagnosis of restricting-type anorexia nervosa. Participants completed the Client Satisfaction Questionnaire-8 (CSQ-8; range 8–32) and four bespoke Continuity-of-Care items (1–4 Likert). Results: Overall, the caregivers in both cohorts were pleased (median CSQ-8 = 28.5 [CAMHS] vs. 27.0 [Transition]; p = 0.75). Continuity items were universally well rated across cohorts. Cohort parents reported a median of two unchanged core clinicians (i.e., the individual psychotherapist, the family therapist, or the dietitian), which was nonsignificantly positively correlated with CSQ-8 scores (ρ = 0.22). Early-group patients mirrored caregiver impressions (mean CSQ-8 = 27.0 ± 3.9). Conclusions: It is feasible and highly acceptable to both caregivers and anorexia nervosa young adults to have the same key staff and family-centred sessions over the 14-to-25 age span. Constrained by single-site study and small sample size, these preliminary data provide a rationale for wider implementation and controlled follow-up studies. Full article
