This systematic review based on PRISMA presents an analysis of 74 studies, conducted between 1889 and 2024, on the issue of digital technologies for the development of entrepreneurial skills of young people, with a focus on Latin America. The original review combines 44 regional and 30 international studies, examining mobile platforms, e-commerce, artificial intelligence, and immersive technologies. The results present a paradigm of innovation through constraint, with all successful adaptations driven by infrastructural limitations. As case studies, Latin American contexts have demonstrated the effectiveness of mobile technology and microlearning comparable to costly immersive technologies, completely contradicting deficit narratives. Seventy-eight percent of regional studies adhere systematically to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 4, 8, 10), illustrating an inclusive approach to technological development that values social impact over technical sophistication. Triangulation bibliometrics confirm the institutionalization of three research traditions—techno-deterministic, constructivist, and critical—with a focus on innovation–digital transformation–technological entrepreneurship. Studies show that contexts traditionally considered “limited” generate innovations with potential for reverse transfer to developed economies. The implementation gap between research and practice reflects systemic tensions between academic frameworks and contextual complexities. This will motivate fundamental justifications for implementing educational policies in ways that support contextual diversity as a strategic strength, fostering the sustainable development of youth entrepreneurial skills in the digital age. This article examines the contemporary Portuguese family through the lens of changes in the transmission of family values, with a particular focus on the religious sphere. Using a quantitative methodology based on a questionnaire survey administered to a non-probabilistic convenience sample of 3634 respondents in Portugal, this study explores the transformations in family values and the role of religion. The findings show that current values are increasingly oriented toward individualism, emotionality, expressiveness, and empowerment, with religion no longer underpinning these values. The religious decline within the family sphere has paralleled the erosion of traditional, positional, and hierarchical values—even among individuals with religious beliefs in whom the sense of belonging is weakening—favoring individualistic and expressive values related to work, education, and leisure. The analysis reveals significant generational differences in the perception of family, indicating an ongoing process of social transformation that reflects broader structural changes in Portuguese society. Younger generations exhibit a stronger adherence to individualistic values and a weaker attachment to traditional hierarchical patterns. The data suggest a profound reconfiguration of the value foundations of the family, with important implications for family policies and for understanding contemporary family dynamics in the Portuguese context. The growing importance of social sustainability in the agri-food sector has increased attention toward Social Life Cycle Assessment as a tool for evaluating social impacts along the value chain. This review aims to explore the application of Social Life Cycle Assessment in the agri-food domain, with a particular focus on the dairy sector, to identify methodological approaches and recurring challenges. A review of the existing literature was conducted, analyzing case studies through a comparative lens based on key methodological dimensions such as stakeholder involvement, impact assessment methods, and database usage. The findings highlight a prevalent reliance on the Reference Scale impact assessment method, limited stakeholder engagement, and a general absence of materiality assessments. Furthermore, data availability and standardization remain critical issues, with most studies depending on generic databases such as SHDB. The review concludes that although progress has been made, further empirical validation and greater standardization are needed. Full article

As sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility gained increasing importance in agriculture, several impact assessment methodologies have been proposed. Social Return on Investment (SROI), a methodology used for understanding, measuring, and reporting the social, economic, and environmental value created by an organization, emerged as a promising approach to quantify and monetize social and environmental impacts. However, research on SROI application within the wine industry remains limited, despite the sector’s global relevance and unique economic, social, and cultural dimensions. This study addresses this gap by evaluating the potential and limitations of SROI in assessing the social impact of a wine cellar’s products, services, and activities on its stakeholders. Indeed, we find confirmation that, as in other sectors, this methodology can support sustainability reporting and strategic decision-making. Applying the SROI methodology, stakeholder outcomes were analyzed, and the results indicate that for every EUR 1 invested, approximately EUR 1.44 of social value is generated, demonstrating SROI’s effectiveness in capturing social contributions beyond financial metrics. This study highlights SROI’s advantages, while also acknowledging challenges. Findings suggest that, despite some limitations, SROI can enhance wineries’ sustainability strategies and offers a robust framework to guide wineries—and potentially other agricultural sectors—toward socially responsible and sustainable practices. Future research should focus on developing industry-specific proxies and integrating SROI with other sustainability assessment tools, particularly in support of ESG reporting. This study contributes to academic discourse on impact evaluation methodologies and provides practical implications that aim to balance economic performance with social responsibility. Full article

As the region with the earliest housing stock market and the most advanced development in China, the Pearl River Delta has experienced extensive housing demolition and construction, leading to buildings having short lifespans. The environmental pollution generated during this process has brought attention to the concept of green buildings. However, whether due to previous patterns of demolition and construction or the significant impacts of social and economic changes in the current and future housing stock contexts, the comprehensive adaptability of human-centered living spaces remains a crucial issue. This focus is strongly related to the residents’ psychological responses, such as sense of belonging, safety, and atmosphere, across different scales of physical environment. However, most housing evaluation systems regarding sustainable issues are green building evaluation systems. And their concept and practice are often accompanied by a neglect of the interrelationship between people and the built environment, as well as a lack of an appropriate methodological framework to integrate these elements in the temporal dimension. This paper primarily tries to provide new answers to old questions about housing durability by reconceptualizing evaluation systems beyond ecological metrics, while simultaneously challenging accepted answers that privilege material and energy indicators over sociocultural embeddedness. Moreover, an effective housing evaluation framework must transcend purely technical or ecological indicators to systematically integrate the temporal and sociocultural factors that sustain long-term residential quality, particularly in rapidly transforming urban contexts. Therefore, theories closely related to building longevity, such as open building and the “level” strategy, were introduced. Based on this combined methodological framework, selected cases of local traditional housing and green building evaluation systems were studied, aiming to identify valuable longevity factors and improved evaluation methods. Furthermore, two rounds of expert consultation and a data analysis were conducted. The first round helped determine the local indexes and preliminary evaluation methods, while the second round helped confirm the weighting value of each index through a questionnaire study and data analysis. This systematic study ultimately established a preliminary long-term housing evaluation system for the Pearl River Delta. Full article

Since the 1970s, the understanding of cultural heritage (CH) has expanded from a focus on monumental conservation to a systemic, socially constructed concept shaped by communities and dynamic values. While recognized as a resource for sustainable development, CH remains marginal in global policy agendas, notably in the UN’s 2030 Agenda. This paper explores how the Historic Urban Landscape (HUL) approach and broader heritage systems can function as enablers of sustainable urban development, moving beyond heritage-as-object to heritage-as-process. It synthesizes conceptual advances, policy frameworks, and empirical cases—such as Capitals of Culture programs, adaptive reuse initiatives, and circular economy models—to analyze how heritage systems contribute to environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Drawing on a value-based and people-centered framework, the paper identifies key principles, models, and success factors for integrating CH into urban planning. Case studies from Europe and Asia illustrate the potential of heritage to foster inclusive governance, community resilience, and innovation, while also exposing challenges such as institutional fragmentation, gentrification, and policy–practice gaps. The findings highlight the need for holistic, cross-sectoral, and participatory strategies to embed CH meaningfully in urban transformation processes, offering concrete insights for advancing heritage-led sustainable development through the lens of systems thinking. Sustainable development in modern conditions is impossible without the support of processes by competent specialists with the necessary skills in technology and other areas of economic activity. Studying the methods and principles of implementing SDGs in higher education is crucial. The study was based on a multi-aspect sociological survey to determine the form of implementing SDGs in educational programs, as well as on the analysis of the possibilities of introducing educational modules in the environmental direction into the practice of existing educational programs as integrated modules. It was found that, on average, the allocation of the subject “Sustainable Development” as a separate course received 5.41 out of 10 possible points, which indicates the need to change the paradigm for implementing SDGs in higher education not as a separate discipline but as components of educational courses. While the integration of SDGs into curricula promotes value changes and highlights the importance of best practice examples, expert opinions differ on the need to establish “Sustainable Development” as a separate sub-discipline in the social sciences, despite the active implementation of SDGs by universities and the proven effectiveness of educational modules on reducing CO2 emissions. When forming such components or modules, special attention should be paid to the practical focus, which is especially important when determining the potential positive impact of the results of using educational modules both in the primary and continuing education systems. We propose the Commodity-Specific Sustainability Index (CSSI), a multidimensional system for quantifying Brazil–China commodity trade dependence that integrates environmental, economic, and social sustainability metrics with conventional trade dynamics. Traditional trade metrics often overlook sustainability risks due to their focus on volume or monetary value. The CSSI combines three dimensions of sustainability risk (environmental impact, economic resilience, and social well-being) into a single assessment framework for major commodities, including soybeans and iron ore. The framework uses a dynamic weighting mechanism that adjusts sub-indices depending on policy priorities and stakeholder inputs, and a Transformer-based time series model captures relationships between CSSI trends with bilateral trade flows along with external shocks, enabling the predictive analysis of sustainability-driven trade adjustments. Furthermore, the CSSI replaces conventional trade volumes with sustainability-adjusted counterparts that are then incorporated into standard trade frameworks such as gravity equations. Our analysis of soybeans and iron ore from 2015 to 2022 shows that conventional dependence metrics overestimate trade dependence by 12–19% (95% CI: 10.8–21.2%, p < 0.001) for commodities with a high environmental footprint. The predictive model, built entirely based on publicly accessible data sources, produces a mean absolute error of 5.5% (±0.8%) in forecasting quarterly trade flows, outperforming ARIMA (6.8% ± 0.5%) and LSTM (6.1% ± 0.6%). The CSSI’s novelty is its holistic approach to sustainability–trade connections, providing policy makers and researchers with a tool to assess long-term commodity resilience, beyond traditional economic metrics. This qualitative study examines how teacher candidates in one mathematics methods course negotiated curriculum integration of mathematics with social justice through the use of multicultural children’s literature. Drawing on multiple sources of data including teacher candidate selection process of the literature, lesson plans artifacts, and reflection essays, this study explores how teacher candidates balanced competing learning goals when developing an integrated unit. The findings from this study reveal that while this process of planning was challenging for many teacher candidates, the results show that when mathematics is grounded in a culturally relevant context, students are more engaged and are able to connect mathematical learning to real-world and useful meaningful applications in their lived experiences. Additionally, teacher candidates were able to develop a broader conception of mathematics teaching, underscoring the value that a focus on social justice can have not just on student learning but on teacher professional development. This entry is based on the premise that pressing issues of climate change, social injustice, and post-COVID practices appear to have superseded some essential values of architectural and design pedagogy, leading to improvements in content that may be offset by a loss of focus on the core curriculum. The entry reimagines architectural pedagogy by arguing for a transformative shift from traditional product-based education to a process-oriented, inquiry-driven approach that cultivates critical thinking and empirical making, predicated upon experiential learning. It aims to integrate rigorous critical inquiry into both studio-based and lecture-based settings, thus critiquing assumed limitations of conventional approaches that prioritise final outcomes over iterative design processes, dialogue, and active engagement. Employing a comprehensive qualitative approach that incorporates diverse case studies and critical reviews, the analysis is divided into two main threads: one that places emphasis on the studio environment and another that focuses on lecture-based courses. Within these threads, the analysis is structured around a series of key themes central to experiential learning, each of which concludes with a key message that synthesises the core insights derived from case studies. The two threads instigate the identification of aligned areas of emphasis which articulate the need for active engagements and reflection, for bridging theory and practice, and for adopting interdisciplinary and experiential approaches. Conclusions are drawn to establish guidance for a future direction of a strengthened and pedagogically enriched architectural education. Full article

Ethical leadership is crucial for cultivating a committed and engaged workforce, but the specific psychological processes behind this link are not fully understood. Drawing on social learning and relational identity theories, we propose a multi-stage model where ethical leadership boosts employee engagement by first increasing supervisor–employee value congruence and then strengthening organizational identification. Using data from 444 employees and 375 supervisors, we found that ethical leadership indirectly influences employee engagement through this sequential process. This study confirms that ethical leadership fosters shared values between supervisors and employees, which in turn enhances an employee’s sense of belonging to the organization. This value congruence was found to be a full mediator between ethical leadership and organizational identification. This research contributes to leadership theory by detailing the psychological path from ethical leadership to employee engagement. Our findings also offer practical insights for organizations, emphasizing the need to focus on value alignment and leadership development to create a highly engaged workforce. Full article

Background/Objectives: Parents of individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs) often carry significant emotional and relational burdens, yet their voices remain underrepresented in addiction research. This study explores how Greek parents navigate the long-term challenges of caring for adult children with SUDs, with a focus on emotional strain, caregiving identity, and culturally embedded coping strategies within a collectivist context. Methods: Eight Greek parents (six mothers and two fathers, aged 47–60) participated in in-depth, semi-structured interviews. Conversations were conducted either in person or via video call, depending on participant preference and geographical constraints. Data were analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) to explore lived experience and the meaning-making processes shaping parental coping over time. Results: Four overarching themes were identified as follows: (1) Living in Vigilance, reflecting constant hyper-alertness, emotional exhaustion, and social withdrawal rooted in trauma; (2) Shifting Parental Identity, capturing the evolution of parents into caregivers, advocates, and informal caseworkers amid systemic neglect; (3) Struggling Within Systems, highlighting exclusion, blame, and fragmentation in institutional care—with moments of empathy holding outsized emotional weight; and (4) Coping as Cultural Duty, showing how caregiving was sustained through values of sacrifice, loyalty, and protective silence, even at great personal cost. Conclusions: Greek parents supporting adult children with SUDs face a complex interplay of trauma, cultural obligation, and institutional strain. Their coping is shaped by deeply held familial values rather than access to effective support. The findings call for culturally attuned, family-inclusive interventions and further research into long-term caregiving across diverse contexts. Full article

The increasing frequency and intensity of urban floods due to the climate crisis necessitate effective adaptation. In South Korea, flood vulnerability assessments have focused on preparedness, underscoring the need for adaptive capacity research. This study proposes the Urban Flood Adaptive Capacity Index (UFACI), a Fuzzy Logic-based framework that quantifies urban resilience. Developed from a socio-ecological systems (SES) perspective, the UFACI integrates economic resources, social capital, risk perception, and infrastructure. Fourteen indicators are applied using Fuzzy Logic to address uncertainties and enhance decision-making. The methodology is tested in 12 rainwater pumping station drainage areas in Seoul, providing actionable insights for flood management. This study contributes by shifting the focus from vulnerability to adaptive capacity, offering a systematic, data-driven approach to flood resilience assessment. Unlike conventional methods, the UFACI integrates socio-economic and physical factors, enabling targeted policy interventions and resource allocation. Its application in Seoul demonstrates its practical value, with potential adaptability for broader urban flood risk management. Full article

The social integration of artificial intelligence (AI) poses fundamental challenges to value-driven domains such as education, where the adoption of new technologies raises not merely technical but also deeply rooted ethical and identity-related questions. While dominant technology acceptance models (e.g., TAM and UTAUT) primarily focus on cognitive-rational factors (e.g., perceived usefulness), they often overlook the cultural and value-based elements that fundamentally shape adaptation processes. Addressing this research gap, the present study examines how two hitherto under-researched factors—religiosity and teacher’s sense of calling—influence teachers’ attitudes toward AI and, ultimately, its adoption. The research is based on a survey of 680 Catholic secondary school teachers in Hungary. To analyse the data, we employed structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) to examine the mechanisms of influence among religiosity, sense of calling, and AI attitudes. The results indicate that neither religiosity nor a sense of calling exerts a significant direct effect on AI adoption, and their indirect effects are also marginal. Although statistically significant relationships were found—stronger religiosity reduces a supportive evaluation of AI, while a higher sense of calling increases AI-related concerns—their practical significance is negligible. The study’s main conclusion is that successful AI integration, building on teachers’ pragmatic attitudes, is achieved not by neglecting value-based factors, but by developing critical AI literacy that treats technology as a responsible amplifier of pedagogical work. This finding suggests that value-based extensions of technology acceptance models should be approached with caution, as the role of these factors may be more limited than theoretical considerations imply. How Scholars Collaborate on Data Assets Research: A Systematic Comparative Analysis of Chinese and International Publications

In the era of data elements, it is extremely necessary and practically important to analyze network characteristics and evolutionary trends in academic research collaboration in the field of data assets research, which can provide valuable insights for promoting deep cooperation of scholars and enhancing their collaborative efficiency. However, existing studies on data assets research rarely delve into key differentiating characteristics and core thematic priorities between Chinese and international samples of collaboration networks. Based on bibliometric methods and social network analysis, a systematic comparative analysis between Chinese collaboration networks and international collaboration networks is conducted via CiteSpace software by using core literature from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and Web of Science Core Collection, developed by Clarivate Analytics (WoS). Through observation, we find that the number of publications in this field has reached a preliminary scale with distinct differences in research focus and collaborative features between cooperation networks in China (CNCs) and international cooperation networks (ICNs). In recent years, Chinese samples have primarily focused upon research themes related to data value realization, such as data rights confirmation, data assets accounting, and data trusts. The overall connectivity of CNCs seems relatively weak, and a stable core author group has not formed, while collaborations in CNCs are predominantly localized and short-term. In contrast, international samples in recent years have mainly addressed the contextual application of data assets, exhibiting a collaboration network characterized by multi-center, interdisciplinary, and cross-institutional synergy, while core authors in ICNs are closely interconnected and their connectivity and structure are generally stronger than those of CNCs.
