With the rapid advancement of the Internet and big data, data sharing has become pivotal for enhancing operational efficiency and user experience across industries. In the restaurant sector, the emergence of smart kitchens has accelerated digital transformation, underscoring the critical importance of data sharing. In this study, we investigate the evolutionary dynamics among four key stakeholders in the smart kitchen ecosystem: data providers, data-sharing platforms, data consumers, and regulators. We develop a four-party evolutionary game model to analyze the strategic interactions and behavioral evolution of each participant, applying replicator dynamics and Lyapunov stability theory. Our findings reveal that (1) data providers’ willingness to supply high-quality data is strongly influenced by platform incentives; (2) platforms’ adoption of data governance mechanisms depends on associated governance costs; (3) regulatory subsidies contribute significantly to system stability; and (4) increased financial support for regulators promotes favorable system evolution. This work offers both theoretical insights and practical guidance for data sharing in smart kitchens, providing a novel perspective on digital transformation within the restaurant industry. Urban climate readiness requires multi-dimensional implementation strategies that operate effectively across both spatial scales and time horizons. This article introduces a multi-scale, phased model designed to support integrated climate action by distinguishing between metropolitan and building levels and addressing three core domains: physical resilience, decarbonization, and social/community engagement. The framework conceptualizes metropolitan and building scales as analytically distinct but operationally linked, allowing strategies to reflect the different systems, stakeholders, and capacities at each level. It also outlines a three-phase progression—Initial (assessment and goal setting), Readiness (planning and implementation), and Steady-State (monitoring and iterative adjustment)—to support staged, adaptive deployment. Each phase includes sample metrics and SMART goals that can be tailored to local context and tracked over time. By integrating theoretical insights with practical implementation tools, the framework offers a flexible yet rigorous approach for advancing urban sustainability. It emphasizes the importance of aligning technical interventions with institutional capacity and community participation to enhance effectiveness and equity. This model contributes to both planning theory and applied sustainability efforts by providing a structured pathway for cities to enhance climate readiness across systems and scales. Full article

This study constructs a research model with regulation and mediation based on the resource dependence theory to explore the nonlinear relationship between ESG responsibility fulfillment and firm value. This study uses a sample of Chinese A-share listed manufacturing firms from 2015 to 2022 and conducts empirical analysis using STATA version 18.0. The results indicate a U-shaped relationship between ESG responsibility fulfillment and firm value. Stakeholders’ interests play a partial mediating role in the above relationship. Moreover, institutional investors’ shareholding further strengthens the positive association between ESG responsibility fulfillment and stakeholder interests. The firm life cycle has a heterogeneous effect on the relationship between ESG responsibility fulfillment and stakeholder interests. Specifically, firms in the maturity stage exhibit the most pronounced protection of stakeholder interests, whereas firms in the decline stage show relatively weaker protection effects. Additionally, there is a complementary interaction between the firm life cycle and institutional investors’ shareholding. This combination significantly enhances the positive moderating effect of institutional investors’ shareholding on the relationship between ESG responsibility fulfillment and stakeholder interests only when firms are in the growth or decline stages. This study not only expands the boundaries of resource dependence theory, but also provides management insights for sustainable practices in the real economy. Full article

This study investigates the economic role of wine tourism in Nemea, Greece, a prominent Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) wine-producing region. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research combines interviews with local stakeholders and a structured post-wine-tasting visitor survey to assess wine tourism’s contribution to local development. A two-step multivariate analysis, incorporating Multiple Correspondence Analysis and Hierarchical Cluster Analysis, reveals five distinct visitor profiles differing in spending behaviour, familiarity with the destination, and engagement patterns. While high-spending visitors support winery revenues, their limited local integration reduces their broader developmental impact. Conversely, younger and repeat domestic visitors offer more dispersed economic benefits through overnight stays, gastronomy, and cultural participation. In addition, local stakeholders highlight the region’s viticultural identity and growing tourism interest as strengths but also note persistent weaknesses such as inadequate infrastructure, limited coordination, and underdeveloped visitor services. The study concludes that visitor segmentation offers actionable insights for enhancing wine tourism’s developmental role. Targeted strategies tailored to specific visitor types are essential for improving integration with the local economy. These findings contribute to ongoing discussions on how wine tourism can act as a lever for inclusive, sustainable rural development in traditional wine regions. Full article

Tourism planning in port cities faces the dual challenge of maximizing economic benefits while mitigating environmental and social pressures. This study examines the case of Piraeus, Greece, by integrating insights from both visitors and residents to explore how stakeholder perceptions can inform sustainable and resilient destination planning. Drawing on primary data collected through large-scale surveys of visitors and local residents, the analysis applies a multidimensional framework to assess economic, environmental, and social impacts of tourism. Findings reveal strong visitor spending and cultural engagement alongside concerns about infrastructure, pollution, and service quality. Residents acknowledge job creation and business activity but emphasize rising living costs, overcrowding, and limited inclusion in tourism governance. By bridging these perspectives, this study highlights the importance of multiple-stakeholder analysis for integrated tourism planning and proposes governance strategies to enhance sustainability and resilience in port destinations such as Piraeus. Decision-making and planning in eco-wellness tourism can vary depending on time, resources, and the perspectives of stakeholders, as it is often challenging to generalize the results of decision-making models across different scenarios. Hence, the primary objective of this study was to propose a scenario-based framework for optimising eco-wellness tourism development. For this purpose, maps of 26 factors affecting the evaluation of nature-based eco-wellness tourism, including water, climatic, and kinetic therapies, were used in the Ardabil province of Iran. Weighted criteria maps are integrated into suitability maps for various wellness tourism products under different scenarios, ranging from very pessimistic to very optimistic, using the Ordered Weighted Averaging (OWA) operator. Then, to identify areas of consensus, scenario-based maps for water, climate, and kinetic therapies are combined. In the very pessimistic (optimistic) scenario, climate-only therapy accounts for 0.91% (2.23%), water-only therapy for 1.07% (8.44%), and kinetic-only therapy for 3.5% (5.81%) of the area. The most significant expansion is observed in areas integrating all three therapies—climate, water, and kinetic—which increase from 3.23% in the very pessimistic scenario to 14.5% in the very optimistic scenario. The findings have substantial insights for policymakers, tourism planners, and investors in developing and promoting unique eco-wellness experiences that benefit tourists. The methodical approach and choice of data and parameters in the study can be inspirational and adjustable for relevant studies. Full article

The global rapid urbanization intensifies environmental challenges related to climate change, such as air pollution and the urban heat island (UHI) effect in built environments. The need to optimize nature-based solutions (NBSs) is imperative to mitigate climate change and adapt to extreme weather phenomena. Against this background, this review offers an analysis regarding the integration of vertical greenery systems (VGSs) into urban environments so as to capitalize on their environmental, social, and economic benefits. Key aspects of the review include the positive role of VGSs in UHI mitigation, air quality improvement, stormwater management, and biodiversity enhancement, while examining social aspects (i.e., improved well-being and mental health, noise reduction, and urban built aesthetics). Finally, parameters related to economic benefits and energy efficiency are assessed. The submission further analyses the significant challenges that VGSs face, such as high maintenance costs, structural risks, plant health issues, fire hazards, and other limitations (legislative and technical). The crucial need for interdisciplinary collaborations among urban planners, architects, environmental engineers, and stakeholders is highlighted, in order to successfully integrate VGSs into urban buildings. Thus, this paper aims to identify key strategies for optimizing VGSs’ implementation and provide valuable insights for policymakers and researchers aiming to enhance urban sustainability through vertical greening. This study examines the accessibility of tourism facilities in the Banská Bystrica region of Slovakia for visitors with disabilities and explores the attitudes of service providers toward inclusive tourism. Accessibility remains a key challenge in developing equitable tourism services, and this research aims to evaluate the current state of barrier-free infrastructure while identifying opportunities for improvement. A survey of 45 tourism facilities was conducted to assess compliance with accessibility standards, revealing that only 22.22% of the facilities meet the required criteria. To complement these findings, structured interviews with representatives from eight facilities were carried out, with responses analyzed using ATLAS.ti software (Version 24.0.0) to visualize patterns through diagrams and Sankey networks. The results highlight significant shortcomings in physical accessibility as well as mixed attitudes of service providers toward the needs of disabled visitors. The study concludes that while awareness of inclusive practices is growing, substantial efforts are still required to improve infrastructure and foster positive engagement from service providers. These findings provide valuable insights for policymakers, tourism stakeholders, and service operators, offering practical recommendations for enhancing accessibility and promoting a more inclusive tourism environment in the region. Electric vehicle (EV) adoption is a critical step toward achieving sustainable transportation and reducing carbon emissions, especially in regions like Saudi Arabia that are undergoing rapid urban development and energy diversification. However, the widespread adoption of EVs is hindered by a variety of interrelated economic, infrastructural, and policy-related factors. This study aims to systematically identify and structure these influencing factors using Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) and Cross-Impact Matrix Multiplication Applied to Classification (MICMAC) analysis. Based on a thorough literature review and expert consultation, 17 key factors affecting EV adoption in Saudi Arabia were identified. The ISM results reveal that purchase price, long-term savings, resale value, urban planning, and accessibility are among the most influential drivers of adoption. The MICMAC analysis complements these insights by categorizing the variables based on their driving and dependence power. The developed hierarchical model provides insights into the complex interdependencies among these factors and offers a strategic framework to support policymakers and stakeholders in accelerating EV uptake. The study contributes to a deeper understanding of the dynamics influencing EV adoption in emerging markets. Full article

This study presents the development and deployment of a modular digital twin system designed to enhance sustainable facility management within a smart campus context. The system was implemented at the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, and integrates 3D spatial modeling, real-time environmental and energy sensor data, and multiscale dashboard visualization. Grounded in stakeholder-driven requirements, the platform emphasizes energy management, which is the top priority among campus administrators and technicians. The development process followed a four-phase methodology: (1) stakeholder consultation and requirement analysis; (2) physical data acquisition and 3D model generation; (3) sensor deployment using IoT technologies with NB-IoT and LoRaWAN protocols; and (4) real-time data integration via Firebase and standardized APIs. A suite of dashboards was developed to support interactive monitoring across faculty, building, floor, and room levels. System testing with campus users demonstrated high usability, intuitive spatial navigation, and actionable insights for energy consumption analysis. Feedback indicated strong interest in features supporting data export and predictive analytics. The platform’s modular and hardware-agnostic architecture enables future extensions, including occupancy tracking, water monitoring, and automated control systems. Overall, the digital twin system offers a replicable and scalable model for data-driven facility management aligned with sustainability goals. Its real-time, multiscale capabilities contribute to operational transparency, resource optimization, and climate-responsive campus governance, setting the foundation for broader applications in smart cities and built environment innovation. Cultural heritage tourism is a vital part of Malaysia’s tourism sector, attracting visitors to iconic UNESCO sites like George Town and Melaka. However, these heritage sites face growing challenges from overcrowding and environmental degradation, which accelerate the deterioration of historic architecture and cultural artifacts. Preservation efforts often require site closures, which negatively impact tourist experiences and satisfaction. Thus, augmented reality (AR) offers a solution by supporting heritage management and preservation, allowing visitors to engage with virtual representations via mobile AR apps, thereby enhancing visitor engagement and travel experience. Despite global adoption, mobile AR apps often suffer from low user retention, with many users abandoning them shortly after downloading them. Understanding what drives continued usage is crucial for successful AR implementation. This study integrates the expectation confirmation model (ECM) and the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology 2 (UTAUT2) to examine the determinants affecting user’s experiential satisfaction and continued usage intention of mobile AR apps. An online survey of 450 domestic tourists in George Town and Melaka was conducted. Data analysis using structural equation modeling with SmartPLS 4.0 revealed that the integrated model offers a stronger predictive power and significantly outperforms ECM and UTAUT2 individually. The findings contribute valuable insights for researchers, app developers, tourism stakeholders, and policymakers. Full article

Jujube (Ziziphus jujuba Mill.) is a nutritionally rich and economically significant fruit, highly valuable for its flavor, bioactive compounds, and therapeutic properties. However, it is highly perishable and has a short postharvest lifespan. This review aims to provide knowledge for preserving quality and improving postharvest storage by integrative strategies aimed at extending the shelf life of jujube. The literature was collected from recent peer-reviewed studies on postharvest physiology and handling technologies of jujube fruit. Key physiological factors, influencing postharvest deterioration such as water loss, softening, browning, and decay, are discussed, along with the underlying biochemical and enzymatic mechanisms driving quality decline. Conventional strategies such as cold storage, MAP, and CA effectively slow respiration, delay reddening, and extend storage up to 2–4 months, while emerging approaches such as ozone and cold plasma treatments reduce microbial decay and maintain antioxidant activity. Edible coatings like chitosan, aloe vera, and composites cut weight loss by 20–40%, and chemical regulators such as 1-MCP and calcium dips further delay ripening, preserve firmness, and enhance postharvest quality. Emphasis is placed on integrating innovative technologies with physiological insights to optimize storage conditions, control microbial contamination, and maintain nutritional integrity. The significance of this review lies in integrating physiological insights with innovative preservation methods, offering practical guidance for researchers, growers, and industry stakeholders to achieve sustainable, safe, and market-oriented solutions for jujube storage. Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) poses a significant global threat to human and animal health, necessitating robust surveillance and stewardship tools. While existing systems address aspects of veterinary AMR, a comprehensive, user-centric dashboard for U.S. veterinarians remains a critical unmet need. This study aimed to identify U.S. veterinarians’ preferences and perceived needs for such a dashboard, to help guide its design and development. A cross-sectional survey was conducted between January and March 2024, targeting U.S. veterinarians through professional channels. The survey instrument captured demographics, experiences with existing tools, preferences for data types and visualizations, desired technical specifications, and open-ended feedback. Of the 677 respondents, a near-unanimous consensus (over 75%) emerged on the importance of functionalities like antimicrobial stewardship education, off-label use guidance, surveillance data, and empirical treatment support. Over 70% expressed comfort sharing aggregated geographic and de-identified animal data. A strong preference was observed for making the dashboard accessible by veterinary colleges (78.87%), diagnostic laboratories (72.61%), and federal agencies (USDA: 71.47%, CDC: 66.67%, FDA: 62.11%), indicating a desire for a collaborative, authoritative system. The findings provide a robust foundation for developing a U.S. veterinary AMR dashboard. Future phases should adopt an iterative, user-centered design, incorporating qualitative research with diverse stakeholders and piloting a prototype with preferred institutional partners. This approach will ensure a trusted, sustainable tool that effectively translates surveillance data into actionable insights for improved animal and public health. Full article

This study aims to identify the key factors contributing to time and cost deviations in educational infrastructure projects in Colombia, using a data-driven approach based on open government datasets. By examining 175 procurement records from Colombia’s public data platform, the research seeks to uncover patterns and variables that influence project performance, offering a transparent alternative to traditional expert-based assessments. The results show an average time deviation of 77.73% and a cost deviation of 22.17%, with a significant correlation between both metrics. Project type, contract value, and process type were significant for both deviations. Additional cost-related factors included initial duration, award growth, and number of bidders, while time deviations were influenced by project intensity and time suspended. These findings highlight the need for integrated planning and procurement strategies to improve efficiency in public infrastructure delivery. Although the methodology ensures robustness, limitations include the focus on finalized educational projects and the exclusion of qualitative factors such as stakeholder behavior and site-specific challenges. The insights are valuable for policymakers, public sector managers, and researchers seeking to enhance infrastructure outcomes through evidence-based decision-making and better resource allocation. This study examines the causal impact of China’s New Energy Demonstration City construction policy on corporate energy consumption. The results demonstrate that this policy effectively reduces corporate energy consumption. The policy significantly decreases the consumption of coal, natural gas, and diesel. Although the policy significantly reduces energy consumption in both local state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and non-SOEs, its effect does not show statistically significant variation across different types of controlling shareholders. The energy-saving effect is particularly pronounced in the following industries: Manufacturing, Electricity, Heat, Gas, and Water Production & Supply, Wholesale & Retail Trade, Information Technology Services, Leasing & Business Services, and Water Conservancy, Environment, and Public Infrastructure Management. The policy operates through multiple channels: internal mechanisms including direct innovation effect, accelerated green M&As effect as well as digital empowerment effect, and external moderators including marketization level and green finance environment. The findings yield important insights for scholars, policymakers and corporate stakeholders. Full article
