I liked Guest Editing because I had complete freedom choosing the topic and emphasis of the Special Issue. The work was helped by the support of a very qualified editorial staff. And of course, this could not have been done without the contributions from colleagues who authored and reviewed the manuscripts.

The staff was helpful, professionally of high standard, and friendly. We appreciate the helpful approach and effort of the managing editor, Ms. Sherry Duan, regarding the entire Special Issue. I have acted four times already as a Guest Editor for other Journals (Journal of Hypertension 1999, Journal of Hypertension 2010, Frontiers of Bioscience 2013, Physiological Reseach 2007) and I already have some experience to compare—this cooperation with the editorial staff was excellent.

It was also a very demanding job because it was done in extraordinary and challenging conditions due to the pandemic: inaccessible research labs, communication difficulties, and low morale. I worked for years to enhance by-products and waste deriving from agro-industrial activities, and I thought I had to write something. This Special Issue allowed me to do it and compare myself with others who have had similar experiences. I got to know a publishing house and appreciate its efficiency and seriousness. I look forward to continuing to work together.

Publishing our article in Polymers has been a great experience for us. The paper was subjected to a rigorous review process and the reviewers’ comments helped us to improve the paper. We are very grateful to the reviewers' insightful comments, as well as to the editorial team who contributed to the fast, yet efficient, processing time. The high quality of the editing team was also impressive. The editing team continued to ask us if any further modifications needed to made, even after the paper was published, which shows their dedication and how much they care about the published work being in the best format/shape for the research community. We enjoyed publishing our work in this reputable Q1 journal.

Polymers is a highly ranked journal containing research on polymer science. When I first started my research work, Polymers was a journal I dreamed to publish my work in. When we submitted our article in Polymers, we received a response very quickly. You have to be fully active in order to provide timely responses to the reviewers comments. As you respond to the reviewers 1st report, you will receive the reviewers 2nd report within 2–3 days, and sometimes even the very next day. It really amazes me. I was extremely impressed by the professional behaviour of the editors and reviewers. The reviewers critical comments really helped us to improve our manuscripts, and the reviewers comments also helped to improve my approach to biopolymers. My trust in publishing my work in a journal has greatly increased after the peer-review process of this journal. I highly recommend my colleagues to publish their work in this journal.

We had a great experience working with the editorial members of Polymers, from submission to publication. Firstly, the process of submission to publication was conducted in a very short amount of time; hence, we were able to release our publication quickly. In addition, the correspondence felt very much one-to-one; as soon as we sent an email, a response was provided within virtually a few hours. The editorial board also managed to obtain paper reviews quickly. All these features made the publication of our research a pleasant experience, especially for my junior research fellows. Finally, the editor who handled my publication, as well as the editorial staff and their reviewers, made the manuscript clearer for the reader to understand. We are looking forward to our next publication with the journal.

It has been a pleasure to publish my work in a reputed journal such as Polymers; my research primarily regards the use of biomaterials technology for various applications, including tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. The editorial teams and reviewers at MDPI are extremely committed to rigorously reviewing the submissions contributed and providing constructive comments to aid in improving the submitted manuscript prior to publication. The reviewing process is conducted very quickly and responses are given promptly; however, this does not jeopardise the quality of the paper compared to other reputed journals. The rate of rejection is also high, depending on the quality of the submitted papers. Polymers is also responsible for promoting the published papers worldwide, which assists in expediting the rate of citations. Thanks.
