“I am happy to write these few lines to describe my excellent experience with the IJMS. First of all, I really appreciated being invited to edit the special issue "Rare Inherited Coagulation Disorders (RICDs)". I contributed to this special issue with a paper on FV deficiency, and I found the whole experience really impressive. The interaction with the editorial staff (at any level) was really satisfying. The online system was user friendly, and the upload of files extremely fast. Indeed, "fast" is the keyword, cause extremely rapid was the entire procedure, from the first submission up to proofreading. In addition, I quickly obtained all responses to my questions. No delays, at any step. Here, I wish to thank you the editors and the staff, and I have to say that I will strongly recommend you to my colleagues.”

“It has been my first experience with Int. J. Mol. Sci., although I already published on another MDPI journal. I’m simply impressed about the efficiency of the entire system! Submitting, reviewing and publishing processes are very fast and sometimes this can be decisive in several aspects and steps of the carrier, especially for young scientists. I want to congratulate also with the Editorial team for the constructive and professional inputs in regard to the contents of the articles.”

“I really appreciate being invited to the Special Issue “Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Toxicology of Natural and Synthetic Toxins.” This was my first manuscript published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences, before I also published in others MDPI journals. I am very satisfied with the overall publication process. I had excellent contact with the editorial staff created by courteous, competent and helpful people. The peer review process was very fast. I would definitively recommend IJMS for the publication of high quality papers."

“We just published our 4th research work in the prestigious “International Journal of Molecular Sciences”, I have to say that it was a great experience as in the other three occasions. The scientific and editorial team was very supportive contributing with a series of deeply-qualified reviewers whose questions to our work made our manuscript even better and with a magnifique infrastructure, the editorial team, whom always were very quick in answering and solving all my bureaucratic questions . I can not express enough thanks to them. Of course, I will choose this journal for publish again and strongly recommend the journal to my colleagues and friends.”

“Our experience to publish with IJMS can be simply characterized as excellent and superb; really constructive suggestions, rapid revision process, highly efficient communication with the Handling Editor, strong support from the Editorial Office regarding reduction of the APC expenses when applied (e.g. an author affiliated with Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, USA), an incredible illustration of the final article, and a unique flexibility and understanding of the accounting department in terms of the time APC debts are paid back to the journal. I strongly suggest IJMS as an ideal journal for scientists, professors and researchers to submit their work for publication. It is one of the best and worldwide recognized journals in its field. We are all here, in Athens, Greece and Harvard Medical School, MA, USA, very excited and proud for having our works finally published in IJMS. Thank you all so much for this great opportunity.”

“This was the first time for me to work with IJMS of MDPI. This was also the first time for me to feel that "something is going on" instead of "Is it being read at all?" before the announcement of decision. These two different attitudes are related to the publication speed and professional reviewers level. Although we spent a lot of time writing a paper for which we were considered experts, our first draft were nearly rejected and the comments were frustratingly harsh. However, our manuscript was getting much better because of the immediate and constructive response from the referees. So if I have another opportunity to introduce our research, I will.”

“I appreciated the invitation by guest editors Dr. Grässel and Dr. Aszodi to contribute a paper to IJMS’ Special Issue "Osteoarthritis and Cartilage Regeneration". Upon discussing it with my international team of collaborators, we happily accepted this invitation. Overall, submission was stress-free and reviewing was fair and rebuttal transparent. The publication process with MDPI was fast and involved all co-authors at all times. In addition, communication with the editorial staff was pleasant.”

“Our publication as invited research article in “Tumor Invasion and Metastases” special issue of IJMS has been a fulfilling experience. Cancer metastasis is lethal in most cancers and mechanistic understandings of Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs) interactions with circulatory cells of the immune system are critical. We dissected interplays between CTCs and Polymorphonuclear-Myeloid Derived Suppressor Cells (PMN-MDSCs) by heterotypic clustering as a key mechanism to promote CTC survival and sustain the metastatic process. Transplantation of both cell populations in mice revealed significantly enhanced dissemination and metastasis compared to mice injected with CTCs or PMN-MDSCs alone. This was coupled with in vitro co-culturing demonstrating that CTCs induced PMN-MDSC pro-tumorigenic differentiation through paracrine Nodal signaling, augmenting their production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Augmented PMN-MDSC ROS upregulated Notch1 CTC expression, thus priming CTCs to respond to ligand-mediated (Jagged1) Notch activation. This study provided seminal evidence showing that PMN-MDSCs directly promote CTC dissemination and metastatic potency. Targeting CTC/PMN-MDSC crosstalks can represent a novel therapeutic avenue for limiting hematogenous spread of metastasis.”
