The paper is well-written. The topic is also interesting. However, in my opinion, the methodology, the characterisation and the discussion of results are poor. Only three-points flexural tests were performed. A characterization of microstructures of wet lay-up and prepreg samples would be interesting for this study, as well as an estimation of the porosity ratio (more than a measurement of weight samples). Microstructure observations after failure would increase understanding of results and failure mechanisms.

"Deformation profiles" is not appropriate for curves of mechanical tests.

In both sections "failure scenarios" and "failure detection" it is not clear what is the novelty given by the authors and what does not belong to the literature.
