Round 1

Comments and Suggestions for Authors
The authors presented a well-organized summary of the applications of electronic polymers in the biological field. The manuscript is well-written and systematically exhibits the recent progress of biological-related application using electronic polymers.
A comment I would like to give is the introduction of mechanical properties of polymers in the "properties of electronic polymer" section seems not quite relate the electronic polymer itself. The example that give in Figure 2A is mainly focus on explaining the mechanical properties using non-electronic/conventional rubbery polymers. There are lots of publications that have been investigated the mechanical properties and characterization methods on electronic polymers. The authors should include some of those works and try to facilitate the correlation between mechanical properties of soft electronic polymers and devices that are used in biological field.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors
This paper summarizes the recent progress in synthesis, structural engineering, and applications of electronic polymers in biological interfaces. The paper is well-structured and comprehensive while introducing several important papers in the field. Therefore, I recommend the paper to be published after addressing the comments below.
- (page 3, 89-92) There are many repetitions. I suggest to rewrite sentences more concisely.
- (page2, 105-107) No verb in the sentence.
- (page5, 183-187) I think that the sentences “Electronic polymers…without breaking.” are unnecessary.
- (page 6, 198) Please define “e-polymers” and use the term consistently.
- (page 6, 221-223) No verb in the sentence.
- I don’t think that Figure 2A represents “the performance advantage of bio-based polymers”. This figure had better to be replaced with other images describing the natural origin of bio-based polymers and their advantages.
- (page 7, 249) There is no information about the conductivity of the polymer in Figure 2C.
- (page 8, 311-313) No verb in the sentence.
- No abbreviations for MMF, FPMD, FOECT, TENG
- (page 14, 476-477) No verb in the sentence.
- (page 16, 554-556) The sentence is unnecessary.
- I think that the part regarding Figure 6C can be moved from the section 5.3 to the section 5.4.
- I suggest to add an image related to a biofuel cell in Figure 6C.
- (page 18, 638) I can’t find the discussion about the advancements in energy storage in the section 5.
