Congratulations to the NanoBio&Med 2017 best poster award winner

The 4th NanoBio&Med 2017 conference was held in Barcelona, Spain. As with previous editions of this internationally attended conference, NanoBio&Med 2017 brought together professionals and leading experts in the fields of nanotechnology, biotechnology and medicine for three days of insightful talks and outstanding poster presentations.

The Editor-in-Chief of Biomimetics, Prof. Josep Samitier (Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC), Spain), together with Dr. Antonio Correia (Phantoms Foundation, Spain), presented the current status of research at the interface of these fields and briefly discussed the future challenges of the nanobiomedical sector at the opening ceremony.

Biomimetics established a media partnership with NanoBio&Med 2017 and sponsored a best poster award. The prize (100 EUR) went to Ana C. Hortelão at the Smart Nano-Bio-Devices group at IBEC for her presentation “Urease Powered Nanobots for Drug Delivery Applications”. Ana’s work is supervised by Prof. Samuel Sánchez and research in his lab focuses on self-propelled micro- and nanomotors, flexible sensors and soft robotics for biomedical applications.
