Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Plant medicines are the basis of current medical practice.  Many of the drugs used today come directly or indirectly from plants and other natural sources.  Many countries continue to use traditional plant-derived medicines in their healthcare systems.  Plant medicines can provide new leads for treating and curing disease.  It is becoming obvious that many of the single, purified drugs used in medicine today are no longer effective due to resistance, tolerance, toxicity and other issues.  Plant medicines provide a mixture of active ingredients that work together to provide better therapy, frequently with less toxicity than single purified drugs.  This Special Issue will focus on the pharmacology and clinical uses of plant medicines and the compounds found in these medicines.
