Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In recent years, the emergence and spread of infectious diseases have highlighted the urgent need for comprehensive strategies to address the complex challenges posed by these threats. One Health acknowledges the interconnectedness of animal, human, and environmental health, and advocates for collaborative efforts among professionals from various disciplines, including veterinary medicine, human medicine, ecology, and public health.

This Special Issue aims to delve into the significance of One Health approaches in tackling emerging threats to animal health, emphasising the integration of professional expertise and scientific methodologies.

We welcome the submission of papers addressing the following topics: (i) One Health approaches that facilitate the early detection of, surveillance of and response to enzootic, epizootic and zoonotic diseases among wildlife, livestock and animals in general; (ii) One Health approaches focusing on the conservation of ecosystems and minimizing the impact of drivers contributing to disease emergence among wildlife, livestock and animals in general; and (iii) One Health strategies that emphasise the prudent application of antimicrobials to enhance surveillance and combat AMR effectively among animals.
