Topical Collection Information
Dear Colleagues,
A common way to assess the energy status of animals in livestock production is by body condition. Different techniques to estimate body condition have been proposed: body condition score, ultrasound, computer tomography, bioelectrical impedance analysis, or weighing. Nowadays, all species have protocols to measure body condition, both in experimentation and in the field. Proper management of body reserves is an indicator not only of productivity but also of health and welfare. Therefore, studies on the management of body reserves can be very valuable for quantitative and qualitative improvements in animal production.
Research articles and reviews in areas such as nutrition, reproduction, genetics, welfare, behavior, physiology, housing, or breeding are invited to contribute to this Topical Collection focused on the latest advances in body condition and its relationship with productivity, health, and welfare.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed.
