Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Laparoscopic surgery has revolutionized medicine with minimally invasive procedures, offering many benefits. Surgeons can now operate on internal organs with precision and efficiency through small incisions and specialized instruments. Patients experience reduced pain, shorter hospital stays, and faster recovery times compared to traditional open surgery. Laparoscopic surgery's roots date back over a century, with pioneers such as Kelling and Jacobaeus paving the way for modern techniques. In Italy, the tireless dedication of prominent surgeons such as Professors Morino, Rendano, Novellino, and Corcione has led to the rapid expansion of laparoscopic surgery in Naples and beyond [1]. Ongoing research focuses on improving outcomes, reducing complications, and expanding the range of indications for laparoscopic surgery [1]. Advancements in technology and skilled surgeons ensure the bright future of laparoscopic surgery [1].
