The Section Synthetic Biology and Bioengineering of the open access journal Biomolecules (ISSN 2218-273X) publishes original research articles and reviews at the interface between engineering and biology. The section welcomes contributions reporting advancements of synthetic biology and engineering in microbial organisms, design and synthesis of new genetic circuits and gene products, redesign of systems already present in nature, and creation of new biological devices or systems inspired by nature.
