Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to invite you to submit your work to this Special Issue, entitled “Latest Advances in Thin Films and Coatings for Photocatalytic and Photosensitive Applications”. The field of photocatalytic and photosensitive materials is widely explored, but we ask you to focus more on a concrete perspective that might have industrial applications. Furthermore, we will give priority to reports using eco-friendly processes without the use and production of hazardous materials.

If you study the heterostructures and nanohybrids and, more specifically, you propose a new technique for their synthesis, we invite you submit your newest findings. We also encourage the scientists to submit the results about their research that did not lead to the enhancement of photocatalytic and photosensitive properties as it can help others find other research directions. If submitting a manuscript, scientists should explain their motivation with a strong background research and propose the alternative solution based on their experience.

Therefore, we propose the following topics of interest:

  • New synthesis techniques for photocatalytic and photosensitive thin films;
  • New photocatalytic and photosensitive heterostructures;
  • Industrial scale-up for photocatalytic application;
  • Detailed characterisation providing new insights into the material structure with regard to its photocatalytic and photosensitive properties.

We are looking forward to receiving your research findings.

Best regards,

Dr. Andjelika Bjelajac
Guest Editor

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Coatings is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
