Topical Collection Information
Dear Colleagues,
Climate change and global warming are, today, one of the most important and severe challenges that humanity has to deal with. In this context, electrical power systems play a critical role. Energy production is showing a very rapid evolution and, in the coming decades, this will undergo even greater acceleration given the need to install many more sources of clean energy with a limited environmental impact. For these reasons the upcoming energy scenario, with a high penetration of inverter-based sources, needs a deep and strong investigation to provide smart and flexible solutions and to understand which problems will need to be solved.
This Topical Collection, "Conference Papers Collection in Electrical Power System", will provide a platform for authors to publish their expanded high-quality conference papers, if they fulfill the following requirements: (1) the paper should be expanded to the size of a research article (50% content expansion); (2) the conference paper should be cited and noted on the first page of the paper; (3) if the authors do not hold the copyright of the published conference paper, authors should seek the appropriate permission from the copyright holder; (4) authors are asked to disclose that it is conference paper in their cover letter and include a statement on what has been changed compared to the original conference paper.
Topics of interest for this collection include but are not limited to:
- Renewable energy sources integration with electrical power systems;
- Power converter interaction in connected electrical power systems;
- Control systems for inverter based generation;
- Voltage and frequency stability in electrical power systems;
- Optimization strategy for energy management in electrical power systems;
- Sustainability actions in power systems;
- State of the art of up to date smart and micro-grids infrastructures;
- Fault tolerant operation of electrical power systems;
- Reliability and resilience of power conversion in electrical power systems;
- Artificial Intelligence for advanced electrical power systems;
- Machine learning techniques for intelligent power-electronics dominated grids.
The collection scope is to have a complete overview of the most impacting solutions proposed by researchers to cope with the changes occurring in modern electrical power systems to meet the goals of sustainability and energy transition that are becoming mandatory due to global events that have dramatically impacted the world.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the collection website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Energies is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
