Dear Colleagues,
Modern industrial processes that manufacture goods and commodities aim to minimize the waste of resources for economic and ecological reasons. Computer engineering may help to achieve this goal by incorporating advanced techniques into industrial processes and manufacturing lines in the areas of monitoring, measurement, inspection, and quality control, among others. These techniques may lead to the development of applications and solutions that provide early detection, or even prediction, of noncompliance with the specifications of the final product. Thus, processes may be reset, re-addressed or rescheduled, reducing the number of defective products and minimizing the waste of resources, time, and economic losses.
This Special Issue invites submissions of reviews and original research manuscripts related (but not limited to) the application of computer engineering techniques and solutions in monitoring, measurement, inspection, and quality control in industry and related sectors.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
