Dear Colleagues,
Our upcoming Special Issue is poised to unveil the mysteries of ocular surface disease, with a keen focus on the molecular mechanisms that govern this intricate process. With co-editors renowned for their expertise in dry eye research, we expect a comprehensive examination of in vitro cellular models, in vivo animal models and enlightening proof-of-concept studies, exploring topics ranging from the molecular intricacies of the ocular surface to breakthrough interventions to preserve ocular health. We aim to stay at the forefront of molecular research, discussing inflammation, oxidative stress and aging control meet the eye’s delicate surface.
In this Special Issue, we welcome submissions by researchers in the ocular field of original research papers, communications and review articles on the following topics:
- Molecular mechanisms of inflammation:
detailed exploration of the role of inflammation in ocular diseases, investigating the molecular mechanisms of inflammation and potential inhibitory strategies; - Oxidative stress and ocular surface disease:
explanation of the impact of oxidative stress on ocular health, discussing new approaches to antioxidant therapy and other preventive measures; - Mechanisms of ocular aging:
focusing on the molecular mechanisms involved in the aging process of the ocular surface and examining their effects, and exploring novel interventions and preventive measures against aging; - Prospects for potential clinical applications:
emphasizing approaches to bridge the gap between basic research and clinical applications, considering the potential for treating ocular diseases and enlightening proof-of-concept studies.
Join us in this endeavor to address the multifaceted aspects, from molecular mechanisms to the broader context of an aging society, within the realm of ocular surface health research.
