Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The 38th International Conference of the Spanish Association of Applied Linguistics (AESLA) (https://aesla2020.udc.es/index.php) will be held from 22 to 24 April 2020 in A Coruña, Spain under the theme "Linguistics and Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Risks". The sessions will take place in the Auditorium of the Universidade da Coruña (UDC) and the Attica 21 Hotel. AESLA and the conference-organizing committee invite you to submit proposals* for oral communications and posters within one of the following thematic panels:

  1. Language acquisition and language learning;
  2. Language teaching and curriculum design;
  3. Language for specific purposes;
  4. Language psychology, child language, and psycholinguistics;
  5. Sociolinguistics;
  6. Pragmatics;
  7. Discourse analysis;
  8. Corpus linguistics, computational linguistics, and linguistic engineering;
  9. Lexicology and lexicography;
  10. Translation and interpreting.

The authors of a number of selected full papers of high quality will be invited after the conference to submit revised and extended versions of their originally-accepted conference papers to this Special Issue of Information, published by MDPI, in open access. The selection of these best papers will be based on their ratings in the conference review process, quality of presentation during the conference, and expected impact on the research community. Each submission to this Special Issue should contain at least 50% new material, e.g., in the form of technical extensions, more in-depth evaluations, or additional use cases and a change of title, abstract, and keywords. These extended submissions will undergo a peer-review process according to the journal’s rules of action. At least two technical committees will act as reviewers for each extended article submitted to this Special Issue; if needed, additional external reviewers will be invited to guarantee a high-quality reviewing process.
