Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Gas separation membranes have gained attention in recent years due to their high efficiency, low energy consumption and environmental benefits. This Special Issue aims to present the latest advances in the field of gas separation membranes, including the development, fabrication, characterization and applications of advanced materials, techniques and structures.

We welcome the submission of contributions covering, but not limited to, the following topics:

  1. Advanced materials for gas separation membranes, including the synthesis of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent organic frameworks (COFs), glassy materials, and their application in gas separation membranes.
  2. Advanced techniques for the fabrication of gas separation membranes such as electrochemical methods, thin-film deposition techniques, confined growth, 3D printing, etc.
  3. Advanced membrane structures for gas separation, including mixed-matrix membranes (MMMs), 2D membranes, etc.
  4. Modeling, simulation, and characterization of gas separation membranes.
  5. Applications and scale-up of gas separation membranes: including their use in chemical processing, natural gas processing, CO2 capture, and air separation.

This Special Issue will provide a comprehensive overview of recent advances in gas separation membranes, covering the latest developments in advanced materials, fabrication techniques, membrane structures, and applications. We believe that this Special Issue will appeal to researchers, engineers, and industry professionals in the field of membrane science and technology.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Membranes is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
