Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to invite you to submit short communications, research, or review articles to the Special Issue entitled “Breeding for Plant Improvement and Protection”.

New plant breeding techniques are being rapidly developed and utilised to produce plants with enhanced performance, quality, biotic and abiotic tolerance and resistance. I invite you to submit articles describing traditional and novel techniques and their applications in crops, trees and other plant species. These can include articles discussing how these improved plants can contribute to meeting the challenges of increased demand, climate change and requirements for sustainable production systems with reduced environmental impacts. In addition, the socio-economic considerations relating to these breeding approaches can be discussed including issues such as regulation, IP and societal perceptions.
