15 September 2026 Topics Webinar丨Interdisciplinary Approaches to Next Generation Circular Economy, 15 September 2026

Online

The Circular Economy (CE) model, which aims to maximize resource efficiency and minimize waste generation throughout the entire life cycle of a product, is gradually replacing the traditional linear economy model based on the “produce, use, and dispose” approach.

In the search for sustainable solutions for various material groups, including metals, glass and ceramics, polymers, biomass, and composite materials, researchers and practitioners focus on both extending product lifetimes and promoting reuse through the application of environmentally safer material, chemical, and biological recycling methods. However, further progress depends more on interdisciplinary than on single-discipline approaches, integrating innovative concepts in materials science, energy, and waste management to develop sustainable, process-optimized green technologies aligned with the core principles of the Circular Economy.

The webinar will provide a forum for discussing interdisciplinary aspects of the Circular Economy. In addition, the related Topic, titled “Circular Economy in Interdisciplinary Perspective: Valorization of Raw Materials, Sustainable Products, and Pro-Ecological Industrial Developments”, is open for submissions here.
