Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to extend an invitation to submit articles for our upcoming Special Issue on "Sensor Networks for Structural Health Monitoring 2024".

With the increasing demand for intelligent infrastructure, the scientific community recognizes the pivotal role of sensor networks in advancing structural health monitoring. This area of research is critical for ensuring the safety, reliability, and longevity of civil and mechanical structures. As technology continues to evolve, the integration of sensor networks becomes paramount in enhancing our ability to monitor and assess structural conditions.

We are delighted to invite you to contribute your expertise to our upcoming Special Issue on "Sensor Networks for Structural Health Monitoring 2024", which aims to showcase the latest advancements in sensor networks applied to both civil and mechanical structures.

This Special Issue aims to explore a diverse range of topics, including but not limited to the following:

  • Wireless sensor networks for structural health monitoring;
  • Sensor data fusion techniques;
  • Energy-efficient sensing solutions;
  • Machine learning applications in structural health monitoring;
  • Novel sensor technologies;
  • Remote sensing and IoT applications;
  • Real-time monitoring of civil infrastructure;
  • Case studies and practical applications;
  • Security and privacy in sensor networks;
  • Integration of sensor networks with smart infrastructure;
  • Sensors in predictive maintenance for mechanical structures;
  • Condition monitoring in rotating machinery;
  • Advanced non-contact sensor technology;
  • Sensors for monitoring mechanical and aerospace structures.

Contribute to this dynamic field by submitting your original research and reviews. We look forward to receiving your valuable contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
