Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, robotics, and block-chains are core technologies of “Industry 4.0” of which the goal is to build and realize a super-smart society. The integration of IoTs and robotic technologies has become a topic of increasing interest for both researchers and developers from academic fields and industries worldwide. It is foreseeable that IoTs will be the main approach to the next generation of robotic research. The explosive number of networks models and increasing computational power of computers has significantly extended the number of potential applications for robotic technologies. It has also brought new challenges to the IoT’s community. The aim of this Special Issue is to provide a platform for researchers to share up-to-date scientific achievements in this field.

The 2nd EAI International Conference on Robotic Sensor Networks (ROSENET2018) will take place in Kitakyushu, Japan, August 25-26, 2018 (http://rosenets.org/2018/show/home). Selected excellent papers from ROSENET2018 will be invited to publish the extended version to the special issue as well.

We invite original contributions on all topics related to artificial intelligence, computer vision, multimedia and robotics, including, but not limited to:

  • Cloud Multimedia Processing for Robotics
  • Multimedia Communications for Robots
  • Ocean Observing Networks and Applications
  • Sensor Networks
  • Internet of Things
  • Robotic Networks and Applications
  • Multimedia for Robot Navigation
  • Multimedia Fusion for Robotics
  • Cloud Computing for Robotics
  • Parallel Computing for Robotics
  • Mobile Robotic Sensors
  • Robotics and Mechatronics
  • Robust and Nonlinear Control
  • Signal Processing in Robotics
  • Robotic System Modeling and Simulation
  • Artificial Intelligence for Robotics

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
