In this Special Issue, we delve into the forefront of spinal surgery, showcasing a blend of groundbreaking research, innovative surgical techniques, and comprehensive reviews that set the stage for future advancements. Our objective is to illuminate the path of spinal surgery's evolution, spotlighting both the complexities of spinal disorders and the strides made in their management. This Issue reflects on the rich history of spinal surgery, tracing its development from traditional methods to the advent of minimally invasive techniques, and aims to capture current research and emerging trends.
We present a broad spectrum of contributions, ranging from original research articles that push the boundaries of knowledge to case studies that highlight unique challenges and solutions in spinal surgery. In addition, we welcome systematic reviews and meta-analyses that offer insights into the effectiveness of different surgical approaches. This issue aims to serve as a comprehensive guide for both seasoned practitioners and novices in the field, encouraging the exchange of knowledge, experience, and innovative ideas. Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Surgical Techniques Development is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.
