Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The acoustic, optical, electrical, and magnetic signals in marine media are the most commonly used methods for detection, observation, and communication. Due to the significant spatiotemporal characteristics of the marine environment, the time-varying and spatiotemporal phenomena of the spatial signal field are very common. However, in order to reduce complexity and simplify computational models, linear and stable processing is usually required for the source, environment, target, beacon, and their interactions. Transforming nonlinear and asymmetric problems into quasi-linear or symmetric problems for resolution. However, due to the complexity of the marine environment and situation, how to adapt to changes in the environment and situation and achieve optimal detection and communication performance faces enormous challenges.

Potential topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Underwater acoustics and acoustical oceanography;
  • Ocean sound propagation modeling and experiments;
  • Ocean noise and reverberation;
  • Underwater acoustic, light, electric, and magnetic communication and networking;
