Dear Colleagues,
Organic and polymeric materials exhibit structural, dynamic, and compositional complexity across multiple length scales, making their characterization a fundamentally multimodal challenge. Understanding these systems often requires the use of complementary instruments that provide insights no single modality can capture alone. Advances in spectroscopic, scattering, diffraction, and imaging platforms, and their widespread adoption, have significantly expanded our ability to interrogate both ordered and disordered materials. Modern analytical instrumentation, specifically advanced NMR, IR and Raman spectroscopy, X-ray and neutron-based scattering, electron microscopy, and scanning probe methods, enables detailed evaluation of molecular organization, phase behavior, dynamics, morphology, and functional properties across diverse classes of organic solids, synthetic polymers, soft matter, and hybrid materials.
This Special Issue highlights studies that integrate or compare advanced characterization modalities to deepen our understanding of how structure and dynamics govern material performance. Contributions that demonstrate innovative combinations of instrumentation, reveal new insights into complex material systems, or showcase multimodal strategies for challenging characterization problems are particularly encouraged.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Molecules is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
