Exceptional Properties of Lepidium sativum L. Extract and Its Impact on Cell Viability, Ros Production, Steroidogenesis, and Intracellular Communication in Mice Leydig Cells In Vitro
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The manuscript is well-written and needed and it treats an actual problem.
This paper is excellent and an important addition to the literature.
I am sending an extended review version.
The aim of the manuscript is the evaluation of the potential impact of Lepidium sativum L. on mice TM3 Leydig cells based on the assessment of quality parameters such as cell viability, cell membrane integrity, and lysosomal activity after 24 h and 48 h exposure.
The results showed that, lower experimental doses could positively affect observing parameters with significant differences at 250 μg/mL after 24 h and 48 h respectively. The potential risks could be associated with higher concentrations starting at 500 μg /mL, 1000 μg/mL and 2000μg /mL.
This is well-organized research in all aspects. The results are clearly presented and the study is well-designed. The results obtained in this study expand our knowledge about biologically active molecules.
The Authors have received high scores for the originality, importance of the work and the scientific value of their paper. I highly recommend the Editorial Board acceptance for publication of this paper in its present form.
