This manuscript describes the synthesis of 4-(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)-1-(2-nitrophenyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-5-amine 3 via a dipolar cycloaddition reaction between azido substrate 1 and active methylene compound 2.      

The obtained triazole 3 was well characterized by H1-NMR, C13-NMR, and elemental analysis.

 

However, there is a serious flaw in this manuscript. The synthesis of the regioisomer of using essentially the same dipolar cycloaddition has already been reported by the authors, but they do not cite the literature (Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds200945, 483.). Therefore, this manuscript should be published as a Short Note, not as a Communications.

 

Furthermore, the amount of base tested (Table 1, Entry 2) is not sufficient to indicate optimal conditions for the reaction; different amounts of Et3N should be used to indicate optimal reaction conditions.

 

I recommend that the following points be corrected before publication in Molbank.

1) Appropriately cite reference to similar dipolar cycloaddition reactions already reported by the authors. 

2) Clarify the optimal amount of Et3N.

3) "[12]" should be corrected to "[11]". The content of reference [12] is different. (p1, line 7 from bottom)

4) Put a space between all Celsius degrees.

5) Correct "amines such as" to "amines such as". (p2, line 14 from the bottom)

6) Delete the duplicate 1994. (p3, ref 2)

7) Delete duplicate 1990. (p4, ref 9)
