Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Compared with the entire manuscript, the introduction accounts for too much, and it is recommended to try to simplify it.

The cumulative confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the manuscript are as of August 4, 2021, and it is suggested that the information can be updated until at least the end of 2021.

Please correct the format of Table 2 unless the authors specifically intended to emphasize Fear.

Except for the Fear of COVID-19 Scale, the literature does not provide evidence that COVID-19 related Risk Perceptions and COVID-19 Behavior Changes are a single dimension, and the authors must provide more evidence to verify the rationality of using a single dimension to aggregate.

Due to the different educational systems in different countries, it is recommended that the author explain the grade or year in school.

It is recommended that the authors present more evidence to show the association of higher percentages of depression among sophomores with COVID-19.

The authors used the overall behavioral change score to verify the difference between the depressed group and the non-depressed group, but directly inferred some behavioral changes in the discussion. It is recommended that all items of behavioral change be directly adopted in the logistic regression model to directly verify which behavioral changes are significantly associated with the percentage of depression.

Reviewer 2 Report

This is a very interesting and highly pertinent paper. The introduction and methods are well written - I would only suggest minor grammatical changes as I have indicated in the body of the paper. The results need some minor clarification only as the percentages of percentages is somewhat confusing.

I believe some additional clarification in the discussion would add greatly to the readability of this paper. The conclusions are extremely important and I believe warrant greater emphasis.
