Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The paper is very well written, easy to read and understand. There is only a minority of more-or-less language details to be improved:

  • page 3, line 113: "the size of the winding's magnetic field"

What is exactly meant by the word "size"? I suggest to use a better formulation.

  • check your paper and avoid usage of saxon genitive for non-living objects

There are many formulations using "winding's", "transformer's", etc.

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors have presented a very interesting approach to an optimization of an integrated magnetic component for the full-bridge phase-shift converter. The topic is very important, especially in the design of converters for supplying modern data centres. The presented approach is original and is validated by the measurement verification.

I have only some minor remarks:

  • For describing the magnetic reluctance, I suggest to use the Rm notation instead of R, which, in electrical circuits, is used for resistances.
  • Below figure caption, an empty line should be added.
  • There is no Figure 15.
  • Page 5, line 162: instead of “…core is represented…” should be “…core represented…”.
  • Page 5, line 165: should be “…inductance differs across…”.
  • Page 6, line 174: this sentence must be improved (weak English).
  • Page 7, line 211: instead of “…DC and AC…”, I suggest to write “…they…”.
  • Figure 12: a) and b) should be described.
  • Page 13, line 328: should be “Table 2”.
  • Page 14, line 339: should be “Fig. 14(a)”.
  • Page 14, line 340: should be “Fig. 14(b)” and “Table 3”.
  • Page 16: Fig. 18 caption – a), b) ,c) must be described.

Reviewer 3 Report

The paper explores an untegrated magnetics design to be used in a full-bridge phase-shifted converter.

The paper is well written. The introduction efficiently covers the recent works on the subject, and the contribution is clear.

The new magnetic design method is well supported by both theory and experimental results. I recommend to publish the paper as is.
