Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Interesting work submitted by authors related to “Non-fragile H¥ nonlinear observer for state of charge estimation of lithium-ion battery based on a fractional-order model” The manuscript is well written and in the scope of Journal. But still manuscript need revision.

(1)Abstract section need revision. The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the principal results and major conclusions. Numerical values for the most important findings should be reported. An abstract is often presented separately from the article in databases, so it must be able to stand alone. For this reason, vague terms and references should be avoided.

(2)On page 1, under introduction section, line 18-21, authors have added the sentence “ The key energy source of electric vehicles, lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are considered to be an important way of energy storage because of its high energy storage per unit volume, stable performance and the potential for lower production costs”.  But sentences cannot be completed without appropriate references. An author should provide the relevant references for support of the above sentences.

(3)Authors should clearly explain the reason for choosing this work and what are the problem associated with the Lithium ion battery and what exactly author core objective in the present work need properly highlighted.

(4)Introduction section is too lengthy. It need to be reduce. State the objectives of the work and provide an adequate background, avoiding a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results.

(5)Provide the appropriate references for equation 1-3.

(6)On page 6, Figure 4. Measurement data and fitted curve of OCV vs. SOC. Provide with error bar.

(7)Author have provided many figures and data calculation, but main weakness of this script is it appropriate discussion. I will suggest the author to focus more on the discussion section based on the results obtained.

(8)Few typos error are seen in the script which need to be carefully revised.

Overall manuscript can be accepted after serious revision of the script.

I read with interest the paper called "Non-fragile H∞ nonlinear observer for state of charge estimation of lithium-ion battery based on a fractional-order model", I found it interesting.
The article is well written and also clear.
The reasons explain the research and the conclusions are concrete.
I found that the mathematical approach is slightly different from those held in the energies journal, I am not saying it is wrong, but different.
The fractional model is interesting, but the conclusions can be misleading. Can the authors insert other references for which the model was useful in electrical engineering?
Comparisons based on percentage error are good, but what errors do the RC starting model and its polynomial equivalent exhibit?

check last sentences of the conclusions
