Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Comments

The perspective submitted by dos Santos et al, titled Qualities and Quantities of Poultry Litter Biochar Characterization and Investigationaims to characterize the poultry litter biochar for pyrolysis conditions. The manuscript presents an interesting topic, and is well-written, however, a few minor concerns deserve thorough attention before publication.

Comments

1. Lines 24-28 are superfluous and can be deleted. These techniques are already mentioned in the subsequent text and highlights of the obtained results.

2.     Lines 31& 32; Please give values of the results.

3.     The statement on Lines 47-48 needs citation.

4.     Figures 4 & 5 can be revised for better resolution.

5.     Lines 316-319: Authors have tested PL from two farms (Bethel Farm and Sun Farm) and used pine shavings as the bedding material. A wider range of feedstock sources and bedding materials could provide more comprehensive insights into the variability of PLB properties.

6.     Line 345: What is collected?

7.     Line 218: Results and discussion

8.     The overall discussion of the manuscript is weak. Authors should support their claims with reasoned explanations by citing the existing literature.

9.     I wonder whether authors have performed the actual performance of PLBs as soil amendments or tested their effects on plant growth.

10.  In conclusion, author can add one to two sentences for future perspectives of the related investigation.
